22.01.2022 Music Therapy is an important part of rehabilitation at #BrisbaneWatersPrivate. Music can provide a diversion for inactivity, discomfort, and daily routine. It ...can decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety and provide physical and emotional stimulation. Today our Music Therapist @StaceyEd spent time with Colin, a rehabilitation patient, encouraging exercise and movement using drums and tambourine. Music is a wonderful way to motivate patients to move more. Our brains are designed to en-train with a beat making movement easier and more efficient. If you or a loved one is suffering from any neurological condition, such as Parkinsons Disease, or Stroke find out more about our Rehabilitation inpatient and day programs at https://centralcoastrehabilitation.com.au/prog/neurological #BetterHealth #RightHereOnThePeninsula #bestpractice #Secondtonone Healthe Care Australia See more

09.01.2022 Did you know? #Musictherapy is a recognised and funded allied health service with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)? It is! The NDIS acknowledges ...that sufficient and high quality #evidence exists to support the use of music therapy for people with disabilities. Here are a few more important #facts about music therapy and the #NDIS. 1. NDIS clients can include a request for funding for music therapy services on their plan 2. Only music therapy clinicians who are current Registered Music Therapists with the AMTA (thats us!) are eligible to provide music therapy as a therapy service and early childhood intervention support under the NDIS 3. Sometimes, clients are denied access to NDIS funding for music therapy because of the spread of misinformation. AMTA is working hard to help NDIA staff and planners from other agencies get the knowledge they need to help our shared clients access the services they ask for. 4. Music therapy has been identified as a specific skill shortage profession in the disability sector. This means that more RMTs are needed to meet the demand! 5. Music therapy is positively changing the lives of people with a disability through the NDIS! Tag a friend, colleague, planner or organisation that needs to know more about music therapy and the NDIS, and head to www.austmta.org.au to find a Registered Music Therapist who can help you.
