25.01.2022 Hi everyone, this is a tool which I find incredibly helpful to stay grounded through the day, and be more present moment to moment..... I hope you find it helpful! http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/check-in-with-yourself/

24.01.2022 Hi friends, I thought I would share some of the benefits I have experienced, personally and in my work with clients, of having a mindfulness practice. Also some tips for simple everyday things you can do to be more present. http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/benefits-of-mindfulnes/

22.01.2022 Hi folks I see this as a really important issue. The federal government is using biased research to justify limiting access to natural health. If you use naturopathy, herbal medicine, homeopathy, even yoga and massage to support your health then this affects you.... 22.01.2022 Im really enjoying offering counselling from Fremantle. I find it exciting to see how working with mindfulness and somatically (through our felt awareness) can really help people to resource themselves in the challenges they are facing. It can also help us to discover what beliefs we have about the world, and to update these beliefs to a more freeing version. Medicare rebates are available. Anyone who is interested, please check my website, or call me. www.upliftcounselling.com.au

20.01.2022 Im just back from doing a retreat with Isaac Shapiro in Margaret River which I really enjoyed. He does really skilled work in bringing people into a state of presence and supporting us to look at our "stuff" from that place. If that wasnt enough, I had more treats this weekend doing Jo Cobbetts conscious dance workshop this weekend! Its all left me feeling very grounded and present.... looking forward to sharing this in my counselling work. 11.01.2022 Hi Folks, Ive been thinking about the concept of acceptance and how expecting things to be different can be the root of much of our suffering. Here is a post about how mindfulness in therapy can help us accept and find peace with ourselves, as well as to change limiting core beliefs. http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/benefits-mindfulness-i/

11.01.2022 Hi friends, I have always had an interest in body based processes... whether through movement or talking therapy, which inspired this post into research about somatic therapies:

09.01.2022 The idea that we should feel happy all the time is pretty pervasive in our society if we were just that bit richer, sexier, younger we would be in bliss and its just around the corner. So why do we feel pain? What is it for? Here are a few answers to that depending on what is going on. We are hardwired to look for problems... The hunter gatherer who was on the lookout for danger tended to live longer and to reproduce, thus passing on their genes, while the happy go lucky hunter gatherer tended to get eaten by wild animals! Not so useful nowadays perhaps? But painful emotions can be useful, in three different ways: 1. Calls to action: Just like physical pain is a sign that something is not right, painful emotions can be a way of telling us to do something different.... http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/why-do-we-have-painful/

08.01.2022 Hi friends, This post shares some ways that I have found useful to drop into meditation or mindfulness in the middle of the hustle and bustle of daily life. Have a look, and if you feel inspired, share some of your own ways of doing this.... http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/mindfulness-in-daily-l/

06.01.2022 Hi everyone, I have been contemplating the importance of loving kindness, or in counselling jargon, "unconditional positive regard" in a counselling session, and in life in general. I hope you find this useful! http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/what-is-loving-kindness/

06.01.2022 Hi friends, I decided to post something on my blog today about mindfulness, and how it differs from meditation, hope you find it revealing! http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/what-is-mindfulness/

04.01.2022 http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/ Thanks a lot to Christopher Heneghan, Blue Kelpie, for making my new website. Im very happy with it!

04.01.2022 Hi folks, Ive been really noticing the difference it makes to feel grounded in your own body... and how working somatically helps enormously with that. We are so conditioned to be focussed on our thoughts that it can take some time and retraining to connect with our body and our hearts.... http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/mind-body-and-heart-co/

03.01.2022 Hi, Im just back from a camping trip up to Jurien bay and Kalbarri... it was so great to have some spacious time in nature to just be. Let me know if you find them helpful, or have other things that work for you! http://www.upliftcounselling.com.au/tools-for-mindfulness/

02.01.2022 Its my absolute pleasure to offer mindfulness and somatic psychotherapy. Its an honour to share peoples journey with them. Id like to thank Mark Steinward for this heartfelt review which I feel captures what I offer... both to those who come experiencing lifes challenges and those looking for personal development. "Ajay is an incredible therapist. I have had fantastic sessions with him. For me I was not depressed or down but wanted to work on things to make my life better, happier, more peaceful. At times in my life I call upon him to help assist me to assist myself. To help take my relationships and life to the next level. Every time without fail, with just one session I have broken through on whatever issue I brought to the table. I could not recommend Ajay more highly. He is VERY VERY GOOD at what he does." Thanks Mark.
