16.01.2022 Fat Loss & Strength Training There’s this HUGE misconception that to lose fat you need to slave away doing cardio. Here are 9 transformations when I (@izzylorenzi_ ) used to specialise in body composition and fat loss coaching. If you’re someone who’s scared to go to the gym and lift weights here’s a reality check - we achieved these results doing 1 x strength training PT session a week plus following a strength based training template. Some clients did some extra cardio... in the form of a CrossFit style WOD (mainly for heart health) - None of these clients were instructed to cut out food groups. I gave them macros to follow & if they needed more specific advise or a meal plan, they were instructed to see a dietician - Getting a PT once per week is probably going to be your BEST investment if fat loss is your goal. But remember, just because you want to lose fat doesn’t mean you can’t lift heavy weights. Building muscle means you burn more calories at rest = helps you achieve a better calorie deficit. Nutrition is even more important. You can’t out exercise binging on 10,000 calories every weekend. - you CAN lose fat olympic weightlifting! It’s a great form of training to change your body composition - look at the worlds most elite lifters, they are extremely lean & are well proportioned due to the large amount of accessory work you do. If you are someone sitting on the fence about getting trained out of @uplift.gym , let this show you that lifting weights will not make you blow up - get in touch now to book in with one of our PTs!
