25.01.2022 I love working with the same families again and again on their journeys through life! This gorgeous family of four (plus one big fur baby) have big plans for their amazing new home. Plus if Tumbi Umbi isnt the coolest sounding place ever I dont know what is!!

25.01.2022 We are so happy for this lovely couple to move into their first home together

25.01.2022 "We finally got these two a bigger backyard", these fantastic ongoing clients words not ours... We are so happy we could help you again with another purchase. Congratulations!

25.01.2022 This month Karl on our team got to choose where our team donation was heading. Karl chose an amazing non-profit organisation in the Philippines that supports children and families in need of protection, food, education, care and rehabilitation. Kanlungan (which means sanctuary or refuge) was established in 1988 in response to the growing abuse and exploitation of street children in Metro Manila, and provides these children with first-aid, counseling, health education and recreational activities. x

24.01.2022 This month it's Keisha's turn to pick a charitable donation. She has chosen SMA Australia (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). SMA is a group of hereditary diseases that progressively destroy motor neurones, nerve cells in the brain stem and spinal cord that control essential skeletal muscle activity, such as speaking, walking, breathing and swallowing. While many people show symptoms later in life, there are many others who develop symptoms in the first months of life (and sometimes even in-utero) such as beautiful baby Austin pictured here. By donating to SMA Australia you can help support those affected by this disease to access treatment, care and resources. The Up Loans Team

24.01.2022 The cat is out of the bag now! Our amazing Carrie has a milestone birthday tomorrow! And because her heart is as big as a whole country, instead of her friends buying her a drink to celebrate, she’s asking if anyone would have bought her a drink - they contribute here so she can do something even closer to her heart than drink Pinot Gris. https://www.gofundme.com/f/would-you-buy-me-a-birthday-drin

24.01.2022 Let me tell you a beautiful love story that will make your heart grow big and your eyes a little teary Our clients Angivin and Annalise recently got engaged... at Tiffanys in Sydney! Angivin approached Tiffany & Co where he bought the most gorgeous ring ever and hatched a plan to ask Annalise to marry him at the store.... He worked with a whole team of people to print special cards, make a cake and chocolates and to capture the moment on film. The day came and Annalise had no idea! Walking down the street with a friend (who was in on the secret), they decided to pop into Tiffanys for a little look around. Waiting for her was Angivin and his beautifully presented surprise. He asked Annalise to marry him and of course she said yes! They were then serenaded with a beautiful love song Does this make your heart explode or what! Best engagement story ever by the loveliest people you will meet. Angivin and Annalise, we are so excited for you and we wish you a long and happy life together

22.01.2022 Fun facts about Carrie... Number 1. she likes to eat half of all snack foods. Number 2. she's not actually a sweet tooth so she's the best person to take to a formal event with you because you get to eat 2 desserts. Number 3. her favourite dessert is a $4 white mud cake from Coles... p.s we are not the cheapest work mates in the world. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARRIE

21.01.2022 Happy birthday Georgia! A whole 19 years old today and our young dynamo! 21.01.2022 Its time again for our Up Loans charitable initiative. Each month, a member of our team will get an opportunity to choose a charity close to their hearts. From there, funds from every loan we settle will be donated by our brokers. Plus our team are all personally contributing monthly. Bels choice for month #2 is Greening Australia, specifically their program Tasmanian Island Ark. On top of their amazing work with thousands of landholders and partners to create Australia...s biggest carbon sink and re-establish one million hectares of habitat across southern Australia, Greening Australia is working with scientists from the University of Tasmania to ensure that our restoration of threatened species habitats in the Tasmanian midlands continues to be cutting-edge and provide solutions that will have the greatest positive impacts. Tasmania is Australias last refuge for some of our most critically endangered animals species that are now virtually extinct on the mainland including the Tasmanian Devil, Eastern Bettong, Eastern QuolI and Eastern Barred Bandicoot. Together with landholders, Tasmania Island Ark is working to recreate 15,000 ha of habitat across the Tasmanian midlands to create a stronghold for our endangered wildlife. The Bushrangers program also provides local students with the opportunity to get involved directly with Tasmania Island Ark by supporting their onground work. See more

21.01.2022 Fun fact: I have kept every single card an Up Loans client has ever given me. And sometimes when the days are long and the deals are hard I read them to remember why we do this job. These amazing clients dropped by my house today. We worked together for a very long time to make this happen. Theyre incredibly special to me and as they left I had a tear in my eye and so did they. The flowers (from their home country) and the boxes which I shall open excitedly later are very lovely - but the card... the card makes my soul happy.

21.01.2022 Far out we feel fortunate to live in this small but phenomenal community - thanks to Launceston Central City for this wonderful article and Fiona Stocker Writer and Melanie Kate Photography for making us feel so comfortable with the process. Launnie - we love you. (PS - If you dont use us as your mortgage brokers, I will use my gigantic teeth to scare you into it ;) ) https://launcestoncentralcity.com.au/news/heart-brokers

20.01.2022 How amazing is it when you get a card that says we have made our clients dream come alive We really do have the best clients, these treats definitely wont last long in the office

20.01.2022 Its not a prerequisite to have a gorgeous puppy to have us as your mortgage brokers... just a happy coincidence!! Stoked for you guys!!!

18.01.2022 Happy kids, an awesome agent and smiles all round. We LOVE our job!!!

17.01.2022 Its not a prerequisite to have had your face painted as a mural on our office wall by the amazing @50shadesofchrome like our lovely new team member Ella has in order to work at Up Loans, but it sure as heck doesnt hurt.... Kirsty thinks she might get George Clooney painted there next.... see what happens! xx

16.01.2022 New homes, sun shining and awesome clients We love our job

15.01.2022 Fun fact... we started this little business called Up with no office. We used to meet people in coffee shops - huge shoutout to @maplecafe_launceston where we basically lived for a year. Then we got a tiny office which was beautiful but so small we had to step outside to turn around . Then the team kept growing and now we’re in our lovely home on Brisbane St. A beautiful early 1900’s building which we’re proudly the caretakers of and have done our best to lovingly restore. A...nd every now and then Carrie lets me work right next to her like the old days (we’re now in separate offices) and it feels like home. She feels like home to me This girl has been in my life for 20 years now and there isn’t a mortgage broker on the planet who cares more about her clients than her. Biggest heart, loveliest human, sometimes doesn’t wear shoes but we overlook this. Love. This. Girl. The end. See more

15.01.2022 That feeling. When youve been searching for your home. The one youll raise your family in. The one youll make your own. Heres to all the future cuddles these awesome humans will have in their home.

15.01.2022 Now this is what you call a magnificent bunch of flowers... Tam was super grateful to receive these from a happy client. Thanks Florage

14.01.2022 This excitement!!! We feel it with you. This will never get old.

14.01.2022 Our team has also grown in another way!! Huge congrats to Tamra (superstar assistant to Tameeka and Carrie) on her new bundle of joy. Shes so missed in our office we had to get three new team members to fill the void and we love updates about her latest adventure - motherhood!

13.01.2022 This just makes my heart happy. beautiful humans onto their next family adventure!

12.01.2022 With all of the new people on our teams we needed an office expansion! Team Carrie (Carrie & Sophie) and Team Tam (Tam & Keisha) now have a lovely new space right next door to our current office. It was a family affair today as we all pitched in to put together the mountains of flat packed furniture! Well still be meeting our clients where weve always met them in our beautiful meeting space but well hang out here to do our work

11.01.2022 Our number one intern, Harriet, has chosen the charity for our charitable initiative this month which is The Smith Family Harriet likes this charity as they provide educational supplies to kids in need which can help them get a better education which will in turn assist them out of the poverty cycle.

10.01.2022 It's a little bit extra special when we can help one of our own. Congratulations Keisha on your new purchase

10.01.2022 When you know, you know... This lovely client came to us early last year to set out a plan to buy her first home... she found the perfect home once she hit her savings goal and look at her now, we are so proud of you!

08.01.2022 What is an assessment rate? And why are Carrie and Kirsty doing wearing beanies on the beach...

08.01.2022 Tasmanian First Home Builder’s Boost is still about!

08.01.2022 When your job is getting to help build dream houses by the oceans for lovely humans like this, every day is a good day

07.01.2022 Weve been so very busy that we forgot to welcome Sophie!....and Keisha....AND Ella!! Yep, our team has grown by 3 more in the last couple of months and we are so thrilled to have these amazing ladies join our UP team! xx

06.01.2022 Meet Sal. The one in the middle. She’s one of three of our team members who works remotely and she calls sunny QLD home. An ex banker with more years of experience than our youngest team member has years on the planet, her job all day every day is to get your loan booked in and settled. It’s hours spent on hold with banks and solicitors every day and excruciating amounts of work that our clients rarely see. Coming into Christmas her job is about to get that much harder as getting settlement bookings becomes epic. We see you Sally Howie and we appreciate and love you. You’re a gun. Thank you for all you do my little exhausted pigeon. Now please move to Launceston already so we can love you face to face!!!

06.01.2022 When the whole family joins in for the photo We are incredibly happy for this gorgeous family to move into their new home. Happy moving

05.01.2022 Thinking about going guarantor or having a guarantor? Ive recorded a ten minute video outlining the basics of what it entails. You can see a little of it here, but if youd like to watch the whole thing, just slide into our DMs (ok that sounded creepier than Id imagined , just send us a message) and well send you the link.

05.01.2022 Looking for something fun to do with the kids tomorrow? A great way to help them gather up a few goodies while you do your grocery shop and help make a difference. Awesome stuff Rotary Club of Tamar Sunrise

05.01.2022 We're so very excited to welcome our newest team member Eliza to the Up Loans team! We've been working with Eliza in a conveyancing sense for years (as have many of our clients) and we're so lucky to have her now assisting team Carrie. This also means she gets a share in this delicious gift Carrie and her team received from clients today... this definitely didn't last long.

02.01.2022 What is LMI (Lenders mortgage insurance) - how do you avoid it or lessen it? Who does it protect? Kirsty shares a little chat on LMI from the amazing Townhouse and Loft in Devonport. https://www.youtube.com/watch

01.01.2022 Carrie and Kirsty (after they stop giggling at each other) tell you the #1 thing they want you to do right now before you fall in love with a property.

01.01.2022 This just makes me smile!! Sometimes the ones you wait for taste all the better (and a little #soldsign celebration never goes astray!!) Much love to this couple of new home owners!!

01.01.2022 Our 3 favourite things... smiling clients, a sold sign and a puppy happy to be in front of the camera Congratulations to these amazing humans on their purchase

01.01.2022 Wants vs Needs. When looking at multiple properties there’s a tendency for a few things to happen based on your particular personality type. Let’s call this one Dory.... They all blend together and you can’t remember one from the next after you’ve been to 20 open homes! Then there’s Goldilocks. None are just quite right, one is too much this, one is too little that. You’re looking for the perfect property. Finally there’s Anna (from Frozen). You fall in love quick and hard with the first property you see. In short, home shopping can be hard! A little tip to help with Dory, Goldilocks or Anna? Write a wants vs needs list. A simple piece of paper with a line down the middle. On one side: Your NEEDS this is the stuff you won’t negotiate on. On the other side: Your WANTS the things that it’d be great to have but that aren’t deal breakers. Things to consider might be: Locations Bedrooms Extra rooms (rumpus, second living area, second bathroom, garage space) Yard size / land size And remember, not everything can be a need or you’ll Goldilocks yourself out of every property. Decide what’s a NEED vs what’s a WANT and then go forth with your list and tick off each property to help you get to the bottom of what you actually will be happy with!
