19.01.2022 Netball Victoria have put out a statement regarding COVID-19: So as stated below we will not be shaking hands at the end of the game. Just thank your opponent at the end of the game. Also umpires will not shake hands at the end of the game either. Please remember if you are unwell please stay at home. ... We want to reassure our Netball Victoria community that we are in close consultation with the State Government of Victoria, VicSport and other key stakeholders, and are monitoring the public health situation and any possible impacts as a result of COVID-19 (also known as ‘coronavirus’). Until further directives from the State Government of Victoria in relation to group gatherings due to COVID-19 concerns are received, all Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria events will be going ahead as planned. In relation to local competitions, please keep in close contact with your club, Association or League for the most up-to-date information as it comes to hand. We understand people’s concern given the potential seriousness of the situation, but ask our community not to panic, and instead listen to evidence-based, real-time advice of health professionals and government officials. Please follow the directions and information on COVID-19, issued by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), which can be found here; www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus. For sport specific advice, please refer to the Australian Institute of Sport webpage, which includes information on travel, as well as FAQs relating to COVID-19. Everyone should practise good hygiene to protect against infections. Good hygiene habits include: washing your hands often with soap and water; using a tissue and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze; avoiding close contact with others, such as touching. You can read more about protective measures against COVID-19 on the World Health Organization website. We also wanted to reassure you that in the current environment if you feel uncomfortable shaking hands with your opposition at the end of a game, there are plenty of other ways to display sportsmanship and gratitude at the end of a game; such as a verbal congratulations. We will endeavour to keep you updated as new information comes to hand. In the meantime, the most important thing you can do is look out for each other.

We would like to thank all the committee members for all the meetings and discussions over the past 6 months. All Clubs, coaches, umpires, advisors, parents and players thank you for your patience and we will see you in 2021.

09.01.2022 COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Statement | Inspire Sports Group wish to provide an update on our current position with regards to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and all of ...our Inspire Netball programs. We want to ensure everyone that the safety of our Inspire Netball Community is at the forefront of our minds along with ensuring our Team Inspire staff’s health and safety is maintained to the highest of standards. As of today, 13th March 2020 the Government have issued a stop to all events / gatherings of 500+ people, and for individuals to be extra vigilant with their personal hygiene to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. In keeping with the above, all scheduled events including workshops and player clinics will go ahead as planned due to the lower numbers of our events, however we are asking the following hygiene recommendations be maintained throughout all sessions. 1. Every individual player to bring their own drink (drink bottles are not to be shared) 2. Body contact is to be kept to a minimum (no high 5’s or hugs to be given throughout any of the sessions) 3. All players, coaches and umpires are to bring their own towels which are not to be shared 4. Coaches and umpires undertaking workshops are to bring their own writing equipment (pens and pencils are not to be shared) We will be working very closely on the advice provided by the Victorian and Australian Health authorities, along with Netball Victoria’s and Netball Australia’s recommendations. As such our communication with clubs and associations that already have sessions scheduled will remain open and transparent to ensure the correct support is provided. If you have any flu like symptoms consistent with the Coronavirus please remain at home and isolate yourself and seek professional medical advice. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones during this time. Further information can be found on the Department of Health and Human Services website: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/victorian-public-coronavirus-di We will endeavour to provide updates as further advice comes to light.
