20.01.2022 The UBTC AGM is fast approaching...please see the Event below for more details. We hope to see many members taking part in this year's AGM!

11.01.2022 COVID-19 Update - Club Remains Closed Until Further Notice A quick update about what the COVID-19 Roadmap to Reopening announced on Sunday 6th September means for Tennis and UBTC. Tennis Victoria have advised us today that tennis remains a restricted activity until at least 28th September (new end of Stage 4 Restrictions). This means that the Club will remain under a complete closure until at least the 28th September 2020.... We are hoping that under the Second Step of the Roadmap (from 28 September subject to trigger points and public health advice) that the Club will be able to open in some capacity, however, we are still waiting on further information from the State Government regarding what activities will be permitted under the Second Step of the Roadmap. As soon as any information comes to hand we will ensure that it is shared. Once again thank you all again for your continued patience and understanding during these times. We hope everyone is holding up okay and staying safe. Take care UBTC Committee https://www.tennis.com.au/vic/news/2020/09/11/23910

10.01.2022 A reminder that our AGM is being held tomorrow night (18th November). All members would have received an email with the Zoom meeting link. If you did not receive this and would like to attend the meeting please let us know and we will provide you with the meeting link. We hope to see many members in attendance at the AGM.

09.01.2022 Face Masks & Tennis Tennis Victoria have provided some clarification around the use of face masks for tennis. Please see below. Participants 12 years and older must wear a face covering, unless an exemption applies... If you are doing strenuous physical exercise you do not need to wear a face covering but you must carry one with you - Strenuous exercise can include playing tennis Coaches must wear a face covering when travelling to and from a venue and while on court unless the face covering impacts on their ability to deliver instructions or if the activity is strenuous - Coaches must have a face covering on you at all times A reminder that from 11:59pm yesterday (Wed 22nd July) everyone over the age of 12 must carry a face covering with them at all times, and these need to be worn in line with the DHHS requirements (this includes between the car and the court and if walking to the club to have a hit/coaching). Please visit the DHHS Website for further information on face masks (https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/face-coverings-1159pm-wednesday) Thanks UBTC Committee

08.01.2022 COVID-19 Update - Club Remains Closed Until Further Notice Following on from the announcement made yesterday by Premier Daniel Andrews we wanted to provide a quick update regarding the impact of that announcement on UBTC. As we are sure many of you would have heard or read, sporting/recreation facilities (tennis clubs, golf courses etc.) must remain closed as Metropolitan Melbourne moves to Step 2 of the Government's COVID-19 Recovery Roadmap, this unfortunately means that th...e Club will continue to remain under a complete closure during Step 2 of the Roadmap (until at least 19th October). The announcement made yesterday is devastating news for the Club, our Members and Karen and her coaching business. We all cannot wait to be able to get back on the court to start playing and coaching again and we are hopeful that from the 19th October we will be able to open the club again in some capacity. We will ensure everyone is kept up to date with all future developments and timelines for reopening when the information becomes available. Thank you again to each and everyone of you for your continued patience and understanding. We hope everyone is doing okay and managing to get out of the house for some fresh air whenever possible. Take care UBTC Committee https://www.tennis.com.au//09/27/covid-19-update-27-septem

06.01.2022 UBTC COVID-19 Update - CLUB CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE As most of you would be aware Metropolitan Melbourne (including Cardinia Shire) has been placed under Stage 4 Restrictions from 6 pm last night. Under the Stage 4 Restrictions, Physical Recreation Facilities (i.e. tennis clubs, golf clubs etc.) are not permitted to operate, this means that the Tennis Club is unfortunately once again under a complete closure until further notice. Signs have been put up at the Club to thi...s effect. No social play, coaching or use of the tennis club facilities are permitted until further notice. Karen has sent out a message to all of her coaching clients this morning advising them of the suspension of all tennis lessons until further notice. A quick reminder on a couple of important points regarding the Club's AGM and Memberships: AGM - The AGM (originally scheduled for 12th August) has been postponed - this will most likely now occur in October or November, all members (from the 2019/20 & 2020/21 Membership Years) will be notified once a date for the AGM is set Memberships - discussions remain ongoing regarding Memberships and will continue over the coming weeks and months, with a decision unable to be made in its entirety until the final impacts of restrictions on the 2020/21 Membership Year are known Any decisions that are made around memberships (i.e. fees, rights etc.) will be applied retrospectively from 1st July 2020, any members that have already renewed their memberships will benefit from the same changes/decisions that are made We would like to thank you all again for your continued patience and understanding during these times. Stay safe everyone, look out for each other and take care.

03.01.2022 2020/2021 MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS! All 2019/2020 Members should have received a membership renewal email earlier this week (unless you have had a change of email address). For those members that did not receive the email, or have not yet had a chance to read it the membership renewal details are below. The UBTC committee would firstly like to thank all of our members for being so patient with the changes that we have had to implement over the last three months. ... Despite everything going on, another financial year rolls around and so does the membership renewals. That means it’s time for the online renewal for all memberships at the Club for the 2021 year. If you were a member last year and setup an online account, those same details can be used to login again this year and select your 2021 membership category. The renewal process is detailed at the bottom of this post. As a thank you to all of our members for their patience during the closures, along with the Club being unable to hold its second working bee, we are waiving the maintenance levy (between $10 and $30 per membership) for the 2021 memberships as a sign of good faith. As a Club our main income stream has been completely cut off in the last three months, but thankfully we have had a sufficient financial buffer to get us through. On top of the levy waiver, the Club has also decided to hold off on a planned membership fee increase and also continue to absorb credit card fees on all membership renewals. Please keep your eye on Club emails and Facebook posts that come out and hopefully all members are able to get back onto the courts and enjoying tennis soon! Our amazing Club Coach Karen of Ultimate Tennis Melbourne has now been with us for almost 12 months and has made such a great impact on our Club. If you haven’t had a lesson yet, give Karen a call on 0403 454 554. More details can be found at www.ultimatetennismelbourne.com Please note that memberships are due to be paid in full by the 31st July 2020. Once again, we would like to thank all of our members and look forward to all Club activities returning to normal very soon. Kind regards, UBTC Committee Membership Renewal Process: Go to http://my.tennis.com.au/OnlineMembership/663864 and follow the online process. Hopefully the process is relatively self-explanatory, but the following steps should assist: - Select your membership category - Confirm your personal details - Choose payment type - Invoice will then be sent to you to pay (unless you already paid immediately by credit card) - Once payment is received into the Club bank account, it will be approved fully.

01.01.2022 COVID-19 Update Under the Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions that came into effect at 11:59pm yesterday (Wed 8th July) the tennis courts will remain open for SINGLES play only during the 6 week lock-down period. The Clubhouse and toilet facilities are closed until further notice. The Committee is currently seeking clarification from Cardinia Shire Council on a few items and a comprehensive update will be provided to members via email as soon as possible.... Thank you again for your patience and keep safe.

01.01.2022 Happy New Year!!! Let's hope 2021 brings lots of tennis play! Any questions regarding coaching or the upcoming school holiday program feel free to contact our club coach Karen on 0403 454 554.
