20.01.2022 Sketchy gears, doughy brakes or even just flat tyres? Don’t let a simple fix keep you cooped up in the current madness Bookings currently available

20.01.2022 and remember folks, as wonderful as the stuff is for everything else on planet earth, no WD40 on your chains. Ever.

17.01.2022 When to replace your chain? Find more here: http://bit.ly/2nQKv1V

17.01.2022 Just a reminder to everyone (particularly those on the fast ones) to keep up the routine maintenance on your rigs. The photos here show the salt deposits (yep, you read that right) underneath handlebar tape, on a set of alloy handlebars, JUST FROM SWEAT. *This is particularly important for those using indoor trainers (otherwise known as sweat fountains). There was nothing at all to indicate on the outside of the tape, which appeared to be in perfect condition, what was h...idden underneath. However, as you can see in the latter pics, the results are pretty serious and carry some potential. Salt, being a kinda corrosive wee beastie, does a very efficient job left unchecked and actually resulted in these bars corroding all the way through. This, left undiscovered, could have creating a rather challenging situation had the bars failed in play. Don’t leave maintenance until something breaks Schedule services for your bike to be checked over by either yourself (if you’re an avid home mechanic) or someone qualified, on a reasonably regular basis. The more you ride, the more love your machine will need. As a guide -every six months minimum if you ride often, and -at least yearly if you ride at all, because, yes, even sitting in the shed, your bike and important components such as brake shoes and tyres, age and deteriorate. Stay safe, and enjoy the ride

16.01.2022 Have your children been riding their bikes over the last 6 weeks? Do they usually ride to school? If not, why not give it a try while the weather is fine? Rese...arch shows children who use active transport to get to or from school are more physically active, gain a sense of independence and often use the trip to connect with friends. See more

09.01.2022 Scone Sports Store are trading business as usual but us locals need your help! With team sports currently suspended it’s going to get tough over the coming week...s and months for retailers who rely on seasonal sports to keep the doors open. Please keep us in mind when you need something sport or fitness related, for camping or fishing or any engraving needs. Maybe check local shops before ordering online or heading out of town. For those who prefer to limit their visits to shops we are offering to deliver your purchases to Scone and surrounding areas. This will be a no-contact delivery. Phone the store on 6545 2425, email us at [email protected] or message us via Facebook to arrange your purchase and delivery. We have lots of great products to keep you and your family occupied and active while sports are suspended, or you are spending more time at home or in self-isolation. Follow or visit our Facebook page (Scone Sports Store) for lots of ideas we will be sharing with you over the coming days. We thank you sincerely for shopping local.

04.01.2022 Scone Sports Store are moving to no-contact after close of business today. What does this mean? We will still be trading our normal business hours but you will ...not be able to walk into the shop and browse. Selecting your items: We will have a staff member in the shop, so you can call from home or outside the shop (ph 6545 2425), and we can send you photos, FaceTime with you, or show you items through the window. You can also message us via Facebook or email [email protected]. We will also continue to place special orders for items we don’t have in stock that you request...if you are wanting home gym/workout equipment please call to discuss your needs. We have more stock arriving later this week and are happy to order in any special requests. Paying for goods: payment will be by card only and will be processed over the phone. We can send you a photo of your receipt. Getting your purchase: Your purchases can be delivered to you in Scone and surrounds, or you can collect them from the back door of our shop. When you make a purchase we will discuss which option works best for you. Deliveries will be at an agreed time. We will place the item outside your door, stand back and call you, and wait to see that you have come out and collected your item. Likewise when collecting from the back of our store we ask you to call on approach or when you arrive then stand back. We will place the item outside the back door and watch until you collect it. Please visit our Facebook page for ideas on some of our range of goods. We have put up a number of recent posts to help with this. We trust that you understand our decision to ensure we are keeping our staff, customers and the community safe, while still meeting all your sporting and fitness, camping, fishing and engraving needs. Thank you for continuing to shop local during these difficult times.

03.01.2022 Take the timeline with a grain of salt, as it’s more relevant to cycling big kms, but the message is essentially the same
