14.01.2022 Good afternoon. That short storm this afternoon sure packed quite a punch. There have been road closures caused by branch and tree falls and associated debris, multiple power outages and even a fire. While we're still trying to gather in and update the information, please bear in mind that emergency and Council staff and Essential Energy are stretched fairly thin and working hard to address all problems. Please, if you dont need to be driving, dont, and if you must, be cautious even on familiar roads as debris is widespread. https://www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au//storm-causes-havoc-ac

07.01.2022 StoryTime this week - When A Dragon Moves In, written by Jodi Moore, illustrated by Howard McWilliam, read by Mark Duplass If you build a perfect sandcastle, a ...dragon will move in. And that’s exactly what happens to one very lucky boy at the beach. Dad is busy sunbathing and Mom is busy with her book, so the boy and dragon roam the beach together, flying a kite, braving the waves, and roasting marshmallows. But no one believes him when he shares the news of his magnificent dragon: Mom only hears the roar of the ocean, Dad thinks the dragon feather is a seagull feather, and know-it-all sis claims there’s no such thing as a dragon. That’s when the sandwiches mysteriously disappear, claw prints are found in the brownies, and dragon-giggles erupt from the strangest of places. Heh-heh-heh. Is there truly a mischievous dragon running around on the beach or is someone’s imagination running wild? Decide for yourself When a Dragon Moves In. 02.01.2022 As we head into a hot summer, staying safe around water is crucial. Last year 248 people died in Australia from drowning - and 34% of those were in rivers, creeks, dams and lakes. This season, the Upper Lachlan Shire Council has embarked upon a water safety campaign and enlisted the generous help of Hockeyroo Emily Chalker and Raiders captain Jarrod Croker. We are sharing their ads here electronically with the kind permission of 2GN. Here is Jarrod Croker's water safety ad... please stay safe this summer.

02.01.2022 CROOKWELL COUNCIL REOPENED: The Crookwell office of the Upper Lachlan Shire Council has reopened after an earlier outage to the RMS system.
