22.01.2022 Today is NICU Awareness Day. Today we honor all babies who have endured life's first moments in the NICU. This September, we honored the courageous tales of th...e hundreds of thousands of families affected by life in the NICU. We gave back to NICU’s across the world. We let people know our story, and the enduring impact it has had on our lives. Most importantly, we inspired hope for so many. Although September is coming to a close, we hope you will continue to tell your story, and extend a hand to help those affected by life in the NICU. Thank you!

14.01.2022 We've made a few changes to our practices in response to COVID-19 to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible. Telephone consultations with all our GPs are available to all our patients and our waiting rooms have restricted seating. If you need to come onsite, you will be asked a lot of screening questions. These are important questions - please be patient with our amazing Receptionists when they do ask you these - they are doing their job and doing it well to protec...t you! Our Reception desks have also had added safety measures. One of our fabulous Nurses and her lovely Brother made us some protective screens for our counters and we can't thank them enough for their time and skills. So we are all working hard to stay well to be here for our patients. Please everyone, follow the social distancing recommendations and stay home when you can. Let's flatten this curve together. 11.01.2022 Hi everyone. For the duration of the COVID-19 situation, we are making some important changes to how we manage your appointments and GP visits at both of our practices. These changes have been made for the protection of our patients and our staff. From Tuesday 12th May, for all routine appointments such as scripts, skin checks, immunisations, dressings, care plans, BP checks, women's health checks, test results etc, you will be given an appointment with a GP at our Pinnacle ...Medical Centre. If you are feeling unwell with any cold, flu or respiratory like symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath etc, you will be given an appointment with a GP at our Upper Ross Medical Centre. It is important that if you are feeling unwell that you phone us BEFORE you come in. Telephone consultations are also still available to all of our patients. Did you know that you can have your diabetic check up or care plan done by phone? Ask our wonderful Reception or Nursing team members for details. Thank you for helping us continue to flatten the curve and keep everyone safe. See more

11.01.2022 MYTH BUSTING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Can I get Coronavirus from being in the same general area as someone with a confirmed case? If you HAVE NOT had ...close contact (which means you've had face-to-face contact for more than 15 minutes, or shared an enclosed space for more than two hours) with someone who has a confirmed case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) then it is unlikely that you will contract the virus. I'm not sick, but I am worried. Should I get tested? No. Currently, testing for COVID-19 is ONLY available for people who are feeling unwell AND have travelled to overseas in the past 14 days OR have had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. If you haven’t been overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case, you will not be tested for COVID-19 because it is more likely you have another virus such as a cold or influenza. Coronavirus quiz: www.qld.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19/novel-coronavirus-quiz I want to get tested for peace of mind. Why is that so bad? There is a global shortage of the test kits that pathologists use to diagnose COVID-19. This is why we are doing targeted testing instead of widespread testing. We recommend anyone who is feeling unwell stay at home so they do not spread germs in the community and can rest and recover. This is our health advice at any time, not just during the current situation. While you’re self-quarantining, if you start to feel unwell and develop any symptoms at all, but especially a fever or shortness of breath, a cough or a respiratory illness, you should seek immediate medical attention. Should I wear a face mask? Only people who have travelled overseas, feel unwell and have access to a face mask need to use one. A face mask is not necessary if you do not have symptoms.

04.01.2022 Testing for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is only available for people who are feeling unwell AND have travelled overseas in the past 14 days OR have had contact... with a confirmed case of the virus. If you haven’t been overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case, you will not be tested for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) because it is more likely you have another virus such as a cold or influenza. Just as with any virus, our recommendation is that you stay home if you're feeling unwell, contact your doctor or call 000 in an emergency. 04.01.2022 Hi everyone. We understand that there has been some unfortunate confusion resulting from one of the news reports on the opening of our new Respiratory Clinic this week. We wanted to reassure you all that the Upper Ross Medical Centre has not closed, it is just temporarily being used as the home of our new Respiratory Clinic. ALL of our GPs from both the Upper Ross and Pinnacle Medical Centres are still available for their patients (Yes even Dr Martin!) The purpose of havi...ng a Respiratory Clinic is to protect our patients, staff and the community during this time by allowing us to see unwell patients in one space (Upper Ross Medical Centre) and well patients in another (Pinnacle Medical Centre). We are extremely proud to be given the opportunity to provide this for our community and thank all of the patients who have been so supportive of the program. Our patients have always been our priority and will continue to be. Please don't hesitate to call our amazing team if you have any concerns or queries. Stay safe and well. See more
