23.01.2022 We have been asked to let you know about a stunning art exhibition coming up: ART EXHIBITION AT MANNINGHAM GALLERY "Nature in Art Exhibition" Wednesday 17 Octob...er - Saturday 10 November 11.00am to 5.00pm at Manningham Art Gallery, 699 Doncaster Road, Doncaster 3108 (Note: this event is free) Park Orchards Community House & Learning Centre is thrilled to announce our annual Nature in Art exhibition Come along and be delighted by the stunning natural history artworks of students and teachers of our Nature in Art program, which has been running for over 20 years. Includes over 40 original artworks of Birds, Plants, Insects, Feathers and other Natural History Objects. Some students have been involved in our Nature in Art program for over a decade and our community of artists includes the renowned botanical artists and tutors Terry Napier, David Reynolds and Marta Salamon. Artist Demonstrations Thursdays and Saturdays, 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Free event. No bookings required. Established in 1996 at the Park Orchards Community House & Learning Centre, the Nature in Art group is dedicated to the study of natural history illustration and painting. Working on a diverse range of subjects, its members’ principle aim is to gain knowledge and understanding of a subject’s physical characteristics through close observation and to capture the detail in a pleasing, graphic way. This combines scientific accuracy with artistic vision and allows different students to paint with varying levels of detail. A survey of members’ work, this exhibition shows the inherent beauty and magic of nature, simultaneously affording the observer a more intimate view of its subject, always with the objective that this will spur a greater interest in the preservation of the natural world. Learn more about the delicate and detailed art of natural history illustration in the demonstrations held throughout the exhibition by teachers and students from the Nature in Art group.

16.01.2022 Yarra River Blitz - post event summary. Just a quick update following the clean up event and to show you what sort of waste was collected and what we are doing ...with the commingled plastic waste now. Great to see it being used for something and not just going straight to landfill. Also the data we collected on the waste will be used to develop source reduction plans. Stay tuned for our next event!!!! Ocean Crusaders Yarra Riverkeeper Association Newtecpoly Pty Ltd See more
