25.01.2022 In this short video, Phil Maley demonstrates how to conduct an Initial and Pitch into the Circuit at Serpentine Airfield. The Initial and Pitch is used to separate the aircraft in formation for a Stream Landing. As Phil demonstrates, when conducting the Initial and Pitch, when Lead breaks into the circuit, the Wingman should always look back over the shoulder to reacquire Lead visual so they can maintain an appropriate distance behind. 23.01.2022 A good article on simulator upgrades. The increased realism and fidelity of the modern simulation systems is almost light years ahead of where it was even 15-20 years ago. BUT The main issue still remains that airlines are still cost constrained and have limited time and money to re-train poor, ingrained habits and a fundamental lack of knowledge. ... Stall and upset recognition, prevention and recovery needs to be taught properly early on in flying training. Exposure to power off, wings level stalls at lesson 5 or 6 at RPL and not explored thouroughly as knowledge increases instills a false sense of security. It’s time to get the grassroots of training sorted. Training correctly and thoroughly the first time is safer and cheaper than retraining later on. #training #airlines #aviation #uprt #uprtaustralia #flighttraining #pilottraining #pilot #pilotlife #pilotjobs #flightsafety #humanfactors

19.01.2022 What better way to end the week than a formation flight with an SNJ-5 and a Yak-52. Jeremy Miller is coaching Brad Bishopp in the SNJ with Shane Tobin taking Patrick Rabbath for his first formation experience in the Yak. Interested in doing some formation training. 18.01.2022 Congratulations to Bas Scheffers from OzRunways for completing his Aerobatic and Spin endorsements, and Yak-52 checkout this week. Have fun flying your RV4 back in Adelaide mate. Interested in some Yak-52 flying? Drop us a line. www.uprt.com.au... #uprtaustralia #aviation #yak52 #aerobatics

15.01.2022 See our Directors take to the skies and display our Super Decathlon, Yak55 and Yak52. Come and chat with us at our exhibit about a course to improve and develop your skills, or just say hi. Looking forward to seeing you at the Brisbane Airshow. 3rd and 4th of July. #UPRT #pilot #pilotlife #aviation #flighttraining #flightsafety #vhfkq #airshow www.uprt.com.au

14.01.2022 Can’t wait for the BRISBANE AIRSHOW! We love seeing Fighterpilot Adventures aircraft flying around SEQ, and very excited for the display of the P51D and the MkXVI Spitfire!

14.01.2022 Congratulations to flight instructor William Dawes for achieving his tailwheel endorsement yesterday. Now on to aerobatics! www.uprt.com.au #uprtaustralia #vhfkq #tailwheelrocks #superdecathlon #aviation #pilot #aerobatics

13.01.2022 In this video, Adam Dean demonstrates a Formation Landing at Bunbury Airport in Western Australia. The important rule when conducting a Formation Landing, is that each pilot stays on their half of the runway, and does not cross the centreline under any circumstances. You'll also notice that as Adam comes into the flare, he intentionally tries to take spacing from Lead, and this technique also increases safety when landing together. The objective here is to land both aircraft ...on the runway safely, not maintain the perfect Echelon position. 08.01.2022 If you think aerobatics is fun, you need to try formation aerobatics! Here Scott Adamson is perfecting the formation loop. You'll notice that in the 3rd quarter of the loop, Scott moves up slightly on the plane. This is a technique known as pulling Lead and by flying a slightly tighter loop, Scott is able to more easily maintain Longitudinal (fore / aft) position.
