19.01.2022 Saturday night did not go to plan, made some changes and the car was improving. Unsure yet why but the end result was a hard hit on the wall with the right rear. We are pulling the pin on this season with 2 meetings remaining. This will be the time to go over the car and check everything, some of it has not been tested or checked in a few years.... Thanks to all those that have assisted me this year, one way or another. Huge thanks to Motacare my major sponsor. Deb the wife for putting up with Me Not hanging the helmet up just yet !

18.01.2022 Well what a night, not the most glamorous return to Speedway, cut two tyres, and got to turn bugger all laps before the final. I was keen to see how the new set up worked and did not really get to try it out in the heats. Started 17th in the final, after poor qualifying, put the cars basic set up back, and away we went. Well what can I say it hauled arse, she was flying and handing great, made it up to challenge for 4th or 5th still with a long way to go, and just like the ni...ght began it turned to shit, with a shocker mount failure putting us out. The fastest lap time of the final even coming through traffic There are way more positives than negatives, the motor ran faultlessly, All the changes we made worked, just not the right tyres. Thanks to Graham, for coming for the ride for the night, wasn't great until the final I would like to thank Keith Simmonds, for all His welding work, and help very much appreciated, also Jeff My boss for His support as my sponsor. No harm done just some wallet damage, and super keen to get the "Upside Down 8 " back out. Congrats to all the placegetters Cheers Welchie

09.01.2022 Well what a night, took the "Upsidedown 8" over to Rushworth after a very busy offseason. There was a lot of work done to the car after the last race and the damage from the incident where it when backwards into the wall fixed. We made some changes and put the old girl back together and dragged it across as a unknown package. I didn't have time to get it scaled and weighed, so how it was going to handle was any one's guess. What a surprise, the car was a jet and handled like ...it was on rails. With a couple of good heats a 2nd and a 4th, I was very happy. A small incident in the 3rd heat saw the steering damaged, and that was the night for Us I am stoked with how the car drove and felt, it will be going for a carby clean and tune as was struggling down low, but overall it was a great night and cant wait to go back. Thanks Keith for his welding work on the car, and Deb for just putting up with Me and her support Cheers Welchie

03.01.2022 It ended up a great night coming home in second a big thanks to Paul Tindal for his help with set-up the car was a beast to drive early but some small changes and then it started to work. We have a 2 dayer next, looking forward to racing again and see if we can go 1 better. Just need to wash the old girl No damage. Stay tuned ... We are back on the pace ... get on the 8 Cheers welchie

03.01.2022 Its been a quiet time for the "Upside Down 8 " team, but that's all about to change We have got the new engine installed, and have it running. Time to continue to put it all back together. This is an exciting time, as this engine will have more power than any I have previously had.... The first meeting tor the beast will be in December at Rushworth, Stay tuned.. I have sold 4 rides so to the people that bought them look out........ Its about to happen cheers Welchie

01.01.2022 It lives again! some huge shed time and the Upside Down 8 runs again. Ty to Ash for His advice and tips, and Ty Keith for the welding work. I am going to enjoy my racing this year, just focus on having fun, and maybe grab a trophy or two. Was music to the ears to hear the sucker run again. Stay tuned for more news....
