23.01.2022 Movember! Please share if you want to. The Movember initiative has been going on for some time now and various members of the Cricket Club have participated which has been awesome to see. This year, 2020, our Club Secretary and general all round nice guy Dan Bordin is again undertaking the challenge for the 3rd year now. Since beginning in 2018, he has managed to raise over $5000 which goes to services and programs that help men with their physical and mental health. ... Below is the link to follow if you would like to donate any money to Bordo's cause. Any money would be appreciated. However, Movember is about much more than raising money. It is about raising awareness, checking in with mates and doing your own personal physical and mental health check. Use this month to book in your doctor and have a looking over, use this month to reach out if you are feeling overwhelmed, use this month to help someone you know is struggling. Testicular and Prostate Cancer's are among Australia's biggest killers and unfortunately 8 Men will lose their lives this week to suicide. EIGHT! This initiative is all about trying to lower these numbers and it starts with donations and a conversation. As a club we need to all stand together and help end the stigma surrounding men's physical and mental health and as a club we can be promoting the proper ways in which people can reach out and help themselves and others. For any more information please see Dan Bordin at training or you can contact via your socials. He is more than willing to help anyone out at this stage of their lives or point you in the direction of someone who can. To donate, simply click on the link and follow the prompts, or CASH can be given to Bordo at training and he will submit online for you. https://movember.com/m/danbordin?mc=1 Hopefully we can raise some money for this wonderful cause, help Bordo reach his targets and provide help to anyone else out there who may need it. Up the Bar!

I hope this doesn’t inconvenience anyone and we apologise for the interruption. We hope to still see as many of our members as possible. ... Thank you.

20.01.2022 Weekly Wrap- Round 6 First Grade had the home game this week on a belter pitch. Murbah took the first chance to bat and the Bar gave it to them. Steve ‘Zampa’ Leahy was metronomic in his approach, delivering 2/12 off 7, Ryan ‘Chris Martin’ Richards also contributed 2/38 off 8. Brayden ‘Pest’ Dirou finally did something to write about and claimed figures of 3/18 off 8, top effort mate. Ben ‘Frosty’ Frost also chipped in with 2/25 off 6. The Bar was set 139 for victory. 20.01.2022 GROUND AND FIXTURE UPDATE KSS is unfit for cricket, the 3rd grade semi final has been moved to KSN. 4th grade semi final has had to be moved to Chickiba. 13.01.2022 Weekly Wrap- Round 5 First Grade battled it out with long time rivals Cudgen at KSS on Saturday. The boys bowled first on a pretty good deck. Mitch ‘The Plumber’ Niland was tight with 1/11 off 5, Ben Frost shook off the jitters from the previous week to deliver 3/51 off 8 including the scalp of his bunny, Caleb Zeibel. Even Nathan Hoey snagged the very important wicket of Conner Zeibel to set up an interesting afternoon. Cudgen were ticking the scoreboard until Captain Abe ‘P...Continue reading

12.01.2022 Training resumes tomorrow, Tuesday 5th at 5pm. See you all there. Please make it known to your captains if you are available this weekend or not. Thanks.

11.01.2022 La Nina has certainly put a big question mark over this weekend and has left us with very little chance of playing cricket if the predictions are to be believed. We have competed well across all grades this season. Our Junior club has strong numbers and will be well represented in finals over the next two weeks, as will both 3rd and 4th grade. As a collective, TEBJCC & TEBCC have at least 1 team represented in every competition hosted by BDJCA & BDCA. This is not a new oc...currence, but we should be proud that our great club is so healthy in numbers and the FIREWEED SPIRIT FOR WHICH WE ARE KNOWN is as strong as ever. TEBCC wish those clubs competing in both the Coastal League and L.J HOOKER LEAGUE premiership deciders this weekend the best of luck and pass on our congratulations in reaching the Grand Final. May the best team win! TEBCC 3rd GRADE v MULLUM BRUNS @ KSS J. Stewart C M. Gabriel O. Lynton France A. Bull R. Saric N. Fryer I. Goldsworthy J. Mallam W. Porter L. Bishop T. Pilgrim R. 08.01.2022 Our awesome wicketkeeper Abe Crawford and 4th Grade Cult Hero, Jack Jeffery are donning mullets for the Black Dog Institute’s Mullet for Mental Health Campaign and is looking for donations. If you have any cash to spare this is a very worthy cause. 1 in 5 Aussie men will experience some sort of mental health symptom this year. Think about that number for a second. Meanwhile 1 in 8 Aussie men will commit suicide this week alone. These numbers don’t add up and need to be fixed.... Your donation can go a long way. In the meantime if you are experiencing any hardship or tough time- it’s time to speak up. We want to hear from you. We’re ya mates and we want you to be well. The TEBCC is built on mateship and you can always count on us to help you out. Up the Bar and good luck Abe and Jack!

05.01.2022 Mullets for Mental Health- inter club cricket day. Two legends of Greg Clark Building and the Tintenbar East Ballina Cricket Club, Abe Crawford and Jack Jeffery were raising awareness for mental health this month, by having some of the best mullets to be seen on a cricket pitch. These boys, along with Greg Clark Building, have nearly raised $5,000 for Mullets For Mental Health and Black Dog Institute. The Tintenbar East Ballina Cricket Club thought it would be a great idea ...to jump onboard and support these boys by holding a range of T20 games yesterday, Sunday 27th Sept, to not only have a hit around but also show that it is Ok to talk about mental health. Both Abe and Jack would like to thank Greg Clark Building and TEBCC for their support and allowing the stigma around mental health to be smashed for six. With that, the Club raised an additional $650 towards the charity out of yesterday’s festivities. We would like to say great work to the boys and Greg Clark Building for getting behind this cause. If anyone else would like to show their support the boys links are below. #mulletsformentalhealth #blackdoginstitue #gregclarkbuilding #tintenbar_cricket_club Jack Jeffery - https://www.teamblackdog.org.au//doyouknowthemulletmanmull Abe Crawford - https://www.teamblackdog.org.au//ab/mulletsformentalhealth

05.01.2022 Weekly Wrap- Round 3. Another rain interrupted days play which saw all teams washed out eventually except 1st Grade who were out at Casino doing battle with the Cavillers. Captain Abe 'Patrick' Crawford won the toss and sent the home side in. The bowlers started off well, with Steve Leahy and Mitch Niland bowling out their 8 straight and claiming 1 wicket. The spinners reeled the game back in, with Darby Freer claiming 3 scalps for 52 off his 8 and Freeman 'Donka' Goldsworth...y bettering that with 4/21 off his 8. The rest of the bowlers tried but Casino managed to get a total of 206. Too many sundries? The batters got off to an interesting start, Patrick was hitting them as good as ever before spooning one to mid-on for 46. Darby got a duck. Will Jenkins managed 21, Nathan Hoey managed 13 and the rest is not worth mentioning. As Abe said at the pub afterwards, the top 6 was like a 6-pack of Rivets from Aldi, had potential to be good but ultimately wasn't up for it. Something to work on lads and better luck next week in the 2 games you are playing. 2nds took on Byron at KSS. James 'Ship' McDonald won another toss and elected to bat with the weather raging in. Michael 'Super Coach' Warburton started off to a blistering pace, smashing the Byron bowlers around. Ethan Barnwell stuck around as well before rain stopped play for the day. 12 overs in and the Bar were 0/50 odd and looking the goods. Dan 'Billy Bowden' Bordin and Zayden Allen again umpired with class and dexterity. The lads have the bye next week and then a double header. 3rds played up on KSN. They introduced a new opening batter, Michael 'Towball' Gabriel, who played his first ever game for the club lower than 2nd grade. He swash-buckled his way to a nice 59 before being unluckily run out in a tight one. Highlight of the day was Kai Dalli's 50 odd not out, well done and looking forward to seeing this young man and his dad move up the grades. The Bar finished with 190 odd and only managed to bowl 8 overs before the big wet came in. 4th Grade, under the guidance of Duncan 'HB' Elphick travelled to Byron. Malak Singh again dazzled with the ball claiming another 3 or 4 wicket haul. Highlight of the day was the return of Nathan 'The Chef' Clements who dished up a few pies for the Byron Batsmen, according to Jack Jeffery. Play was interrupted there by hail and then rain. Looking forward to seeing you all at training if it doesn't rain. Remember to complete your registration at the following link: www.jointebcc.com.au Only registered and financial players will be picked soon. If you need card facilities to pay, we have that available at training, please see our treasurer, James McDonald if you need assistance. Otherwise, Up the Bar!
