25.01.2022 A friend recently asked me why? Why do we do what we do as Upton Engineering? why are we here? why are we in business? I had to think long and hard but my answer is this- Frankly, its because I'm sick and tired of people saying we can't do it. "We don't/can't make anything in Australia any more" And then they proceed to give 100 examples of what we don't make locally any more. It's just rubbish, and it usually comes from someone who hasn't made a damn thing in their life.... Why? To prove we can manufacture the best irrigation machinery for our own farmers right here in our own country, giving jobs to our own people. To stand up and put our beliefs where our mouth is. To build them better, make them last longer, to have a personal connection to each and every customer, to make those customers more profitable. To allow them to leave their legacy to next generation of young farmers. To give our kids a future to believe in. To pass on valuable skills and knowledge. To not just lay down and take the easy way out by handing it all to someone else. To show them you can do anything if you believe in it and you put your mind to it. To make Australia great again? No. To keep Australia as great as it is. There is long, proud and continuing tradition of Australians building quality farm equipment for use right here in Australia.
