20.01.2022 Dear Families, In line with advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, the Victorian Government has announced that those in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire must wear a face covering when they leave home from 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July 2020. Face coverings will be mandatory for people aged 12 and over. These measures will slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and help protect the community. This means that school-based staff and students at UHS will be req...uired to wear a face covering. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that any face covering will be acceptable it does not need to be a surgical mask. Teachers and education support staff will not be required to wear face coverings while teaching, but those who wish to do so, can. Teachers should wear face coverings in other areas of the school when not teaching (for example, in the staffroom, on yard duty and when providing first aid or taking temperatures), and when travelling to and from school. All secondary school students who are attending on-site for Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) or on-site supervision will need to wear a face covering, including when travelling to and from school. Parents/carers will be required to wear face coverings whenever they leave the house, including for school drop off and pick up. The Department of Health and Human Services website https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/face-masks-covid-19 has advice about face coverings, including: (a) different types that can be used (b) how to make your own (c) how to safely wear (d) how to safely remove. 14.01.2022 Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 12 May, some students will be returning to school from Tuesday 26 May. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that it is safe for students and teachers to return in a two-staged approach: Stage 1 from Tuesday 26 May: Year 11 and 12. All staff will attend on-site. Stage 2 from Tuesday 9 June: Years 7 to 10 students will return to on-site schooling, subject to health advice.... It is important that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with families via the Skoolbag App with more details. 12.01.2022 Coming Soon! Please join us for this years School Production Normal In a place close to here, in a time in the near future, a group of teenagers finds itself the only people left behind. The rest of their community has been taken to camps during a sudden civil war. They are the ones who know how to get around on foot, know the back ways and shortcuts; know how to hide. They have to come to terms with the occupying force (a group of forced soldiers of similar ages to themselves) who ask them to elect a leader. Strong characters, with firm ideas, stand up and declare their interest. Can they resolve the situation they find themselves in avoiding further conflict and harm?

12.01.2022 Fantastic Efforts by Ferny Creek PS, Tecoma PS, Upwey PS & Upwey South PS on the Volleyball Courts yesterday. Our STP Volleyball students had so much fun working with you! Congratulation to Upwey South PS Boys for winning the Upwey Cup!!

10.01.2022 Dear families It has been great to work with VCE and VCAL students this week in re-engaging with their learning. We are continuing to plan for next week and the return to learning for the rest of our students. 1. Locker Access Years 7 to 10 students who need to access their lockers are able to at either: 3:30pm-4:30pm on Thursday 16 July, or... 3:30pm-4:30pm on Friday 17 July. 2. Year 8 Students - Pick Up Your Booklet at the Same Time All Year 8 students will need to collect their Remote Learning Maths/Science booklets from the Year 8 Learning Common when they pick up their books from their lockers. They have your names on the front of the booklet and are in individual plastic pockets. 3. Technical Issues We will be delivering Year 7-10 remote learning using the same platforms as last term, ie Daymap and MS Teams. Please check for any issues before next week. To contact the school regarding an IT technical issue, please use the Application for Technology Support form found under Eforms on Skoolbag. 4. No Access to the School During Lockdown! We can only allow visitors onto the schoolsite by prior arrangement with the Principal Team. Please, no walk-ups! We are progressively updating arrangements for next week, including supporting information on Skoolbag. There will be another update at the end of the week, where we will go through all of the arrangements. Kind regards UHS See more

06.01.2022 Following advice from the Department of Education and Training we will be moving to remote and flexible learning from Term 2, to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. The Departments latest advice on coronavirus can be found at https://www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus It is impor...tant that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. Please check Skoolbag App for further details of what remote and flexible learning will look like at our school. In the meantime, you might find it useful to look at the Departments Learning from Home website. It provides resources and guidance for teachers and parents and carers. https://www.education.vic.gov.au//Pa/learningfromhome.aspx Please continue to stay safe and healthy. See more

05.01.2022 Dear Families/Students A quick update around on-site arrangements: 1. Temperature Checking We are changing the arrangements as of tomorrow (Thursday 23 July). (a) On arrival:... - Year 10 students sign in and get tested at the General Office - Year 11 students report to Later Years Centre - Year 12 students report to Year 9 Learning Common (b) Staff will be in operation at each venue from 8:35am-8:50am (c) Students can have their temperature taken as soon as they arrive: - if it is ok, you will get ticked off the list and can then leave for class - if it is not (because they are too cold), sit down and try again later (d) If students are signing in late at the General Office: - temperatures will be checked and student names will be ticked off the list. 2. Face coverings/Masks Remember we are all (staff and students) wearing masks/face coverings from tomorrow, to and from school, and whilst we are at school. This is not optional! The Department of Health and Human Services website https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/face-masks-covid-19 has advice about face coverings, including: (a) different types that can be used (b) how to make your own (c) how to safely wear (d) how to safely remove. 3. Laptops/Power leads As access to the school is restricted during the day, we are suggesting that we should all take our laptops and leads home every night, just in case a student needs to be absent from school. We think that this is a good habit to get into! Stay safe! Thanks for your support. Tom Daly Principal See more
