25.01.2022 This week our 2021 Residential Staff team are being briefed in many aspects for their leadership role within the Halls including; conflict resolution, community building, support services and referral techniques, handling emergencies, role modelling, mental health first aid, cultural diversity and much more! Team building has also been a major focus with some time spent at North Stradbroke Island. The RA team enjoyed a guided tour along the edge of the mangroves, stopping at a few locations to yarn about the local history, culture, family customs and traditions. Together with our Residents’ Club, they are all extremely excited to soon welcome both new and returning residents to our Halls community! Only four more sleeps until Orientation Week

25.01.2022 It's a wrap! We hope residents are enjoying a well earned rest after exams and a challenging year to say the least! Our 2021 Residents' Club is still going strong, having just returned from North Stradbroke Island for their training camp. It was a busy weekend away to organise Orientation Week and an action packed events calendar for next year in Halls. We are looking forward to 2021 already!

17.01.2022 The Halls of Residence is seeking expressions of interest for Residential Supervisor positions commencing in February 2021 Residential Supervisors perform the dual role of community leader and of student mentor within the Halls of Residence. Residential Supervisors live on-site and are primarily responsible for leading a team of up to six undergraduate Residential Staff to support the development of a vibrant residential community and foster pastoral, cultural and social prog...rams within their Hall. Each Residential Supervisor also has direct pastoral responsibility for the students in their Hall and is available to students who require help with personal and academic matters. It is also anticipated that Residential Supervisors will participate in, and extend the cultural, sporting and social life of the Halls through individual and group activities. Residential Supervisors report to and are directly supervised by the Manager, Residential Programs. Residential Supervisors must have strong interpersonal skills and play a major role in community leadership, the implementation of resident driven programming, upholding community living standards, managing student and staff concerns and crisis management.
