08.01.2022 Exercise may help improve brain health and prevent dementia, but what form of exercise is the most effective? This is the focus of a study in UQs School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences to find out what type of exercise is best for brain health in older adults with memory problems. The research team are looking for people over the age of 60, who are concerned about their memory or thinking abilities, but are able to complete daily activities independently. Find out more

04.01.2022 Each month we ask a UQ Health Care staff member five questions. This month we spoke to Julie-Anne Whittaker, UQ Health Care Nurse Practitioner at Aveo Durack. A typical day can include visiting residents with acute health concerns and prescribing a treatment plan, reviewing residents who have been unwell to ensure they are responding to treatment, reviewing healthy residents monthly as part of a general check-up and arranging geriatrician reviews via telehealth.
