15.01.2022 Hey guys! We have a message from the Queensland Living History Federation and their workshop on Japanese Bushido history and culture. Message is below [ ] We are a living history group that focuses on the years 1599-1600 from the perspective of a Takayama Go-jinsho encampment in support of Tokugawa Ieyasu. We focus on using research to document everything we do, so this way we are able to provide an authentic experience of this era for the publ...ic and also for ourselves. Everything we do, therefore, has been documented and researched (from combat, food, clothing, utensils, material for clothing, armour, you name it). We focus on bring these aspects of Japan to life, both in combat and non-combat activities. [ ] As for the description of the workshops offered on November 1st: We will be running workshops covering various aspects of warrior and social culture. This will include the the formalities of the time for people of various ranks, combat techniques used and how they can very much differ from those seen today, life in an encampment, the etiquette required from a warrior or commoner, the various methods in which people trained for their crafts, and much more. The workshops will be run in Brisbane, Rocklea. These sessions are completely free of charge. However, due to limits in place by COVID, we can only accept a maximum of 10 people, so RSVPs by October 30th (at the latest) are essential.
