10.01.2022 UQLA Events: The UQLA is proud to co-host with the TC Beirne School of Law, the Julian Wagner Memorial Fund and Australians Against Capital Punishment, a cocktail hour function with Richard Bourke, the director of the Louisiana Capital Assistance Center. Richard was a leading talent of the Victorian Bar before joining the Assistance Center in 2002. He has worked on numerous trials and appeals opposing the imposition or carrying out of the death penalty on his clients and ha...s worked to change the systemic injustices of a system that inflicts its worst injustices on people who are poor and are predominantly from disadvantaged backgrounds. This event will be held on 30 July 2018 at 5.30pm at the Banco Court. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, please contact Elisa at [email protected] or Tina on 0423 709 445. Tickets are $70, or $60 for a concessional ticket. All profits will be shared equally by the Julian Wagner Memorial Fund Inc and Australians Against Capital Punishment. Please RSVP by 23 July 2018.

As such, the UQLS have cancelled the event. The UQLS are attempting to reschedule the lecture to a later date. We will advise if the event can be moved to a different date.
