19.01.2022 : BURGER KING Whilst eateries around Queensland and much of Australia have now begun to offer dining-in (for 10 people at a time) as of last weekend, eating at home is still very much the norm, especially around the globe. In response to this new normal, Burger King in America created an advertisment encouraging people to stay at home on the couch and order in for the greater good and safety of their country - to be Couch Po-ta-triots! ... Burger King contiunes to waive all delivery fees on orders and as part of the campaign has given away 250,000 Whopper sandwiches to nurses. It is also asking customers to text THANKS to a hot-line to make a one-time donation directly to the American Nurses Foundation Coronavirus Response Fund.

18.01.2022 : EXERCISE! COVID-19 has impacted us all, especially when it comes to our university lives where old trialled and tested study methods have been challenged. So, here is one WFH tip from our Secretary, Jarred Reinke to help get you through the rest of this semester and beyond! ... EXERCISE! Working from home is a gravitational pull toward sloth-like behavior, but getting some much-needed fresh air and a sweat in, even if briefly, can make all the difference in this bleak time! Seize the time in the morning that youd normally spend commuting to uni or work, and do a home workout class or get outside for a jog or walk. If like me youre really not a morning person, try to squeeze in even a 20-minute remote workout around lunchtime or after you wrap up for the day. You dont need a gym membership to stay active and healthy!

With gyms still yet to open, sporting arenas around the world sitting eerily empty, and still plenty of restrictions in place regarding masses of people together, Nike created an advertisement encouraging people to rather play inside for the time being.... The advertisement, which features several high-profile athletes, seeks to celebrate the human pursuit of sports excellence, showing how athletes around the world are still going hard, staying active and healthy, despite staying indoors. Though the core message of the advertisement centres on the idea of teamwork and how we are in this together, stating, we may not be playing together, for our countries, or for giant crowds, rather today we are playing for 7.8 billion people, for the world!

10.01.2022 : REALTOR.COM Home is a sanctuary, a haven, a place where we will weather a storm that like many others also shall past. Although restrictions have begun to ease, giving us all a little more freedom to move about again, we are all still spending more time at home, and have done partciuarly in the last few months.... As a result, Realtor.com, an American-based real estate listings website created an advertsiment showing how the word home has taken on a whole new meaning in recent times, beyond just being a physical space. In the advertsiment it communicates how homes have become our workplace, our daycare, our gym, our school, and above all else a place where we feel protected from the outside world.

05.01.2022 : IKEA Across the world, people are staying home to stop the spread of COVID-19. Its a new experience, but one which presents the opportunity for people to try new things. IKEA created a film that celebrates these "Firsts", whether they be a learning a new skill like cooking, or a new routine of checking on loved ones first thing in the morning. Though we may not be able to do all the things we used to do right now, we can use this time to better ourselves and help out others. And we can emerge from this trying time better off than we were before.
