22.01.2022 At this weeks JKMRC Friday Seminar, RMIT University's Dr Gavin Mudd will explore mining's nuanced role in a circular economy and explain why, if an ideal circular economy means everything is recycled, the industry will be sticking around. Dr Gavin Mudd has been at the forefront of research on the environmental impacts, management and sustainability of mining for over 20 years. As a self-confessed data junkie, his research has built unique and extensive data sets to examine this history of mining, linking these to the growing environmental risks from modern mining and the needs for sustainable development. To watch the webinar live download Zoom and register at https://smi.uq.edu.au/event/session/7120. The webinar will also be made available on SMI's YouTube channel.
