23.01.2022 Happy holidays from the UQ Women in Engineering team! WE love the dedication from our team who go above and beyond, volunteering their time and passion for diversity in Engineering including in their summer breaks. Looking forward to welcoming our new first year students in 2021 and engaging with high school students in the New Year!

21.01.2022 WE can't wait to welcome commencing students into Engineering at UQ this Semester! Don't forget there are plenty of scholarship opportunities available, including the Kathy Hirschfeld AM Scholarship for Women in Engineering. Apply online today: https://bit.ly/3ibXHHJ

11.01.2022 WE are back on deck and looking forward to the year ahead! Our student leaders have been busy this summer doing work placement - such an invaluable opportunity to experience the industry first hand. Chemical Engineering student Kathleen is currently with Unitywater in the Treatment Plants team. She has visited different sites including Maleny and Kawana and is currently doing an efficiency analysis of the effluent pumps at Bribie Island. It sure does look like she's enjoying it!

10.01.2022 Our friends at Dream Big Australia are launching the STEAM Ahead Program this year. This is an incredible opportunity to empower female university students to succeed in their careers. Here's a throwback to 2020 where we interviewed managing director and founder of Dream Big Australia Jessica Kahl for our podcast series, But Seriously, What is Engineering? 05.01.2022 Did you know Else Shepherd was Queensland's first female engineering graduate, completing her Electrical Engineering degree from The University of Queensland in 1965. By being a female engineer when there weren’t many of us, I hope I’ve given other women the courage to do what they want to do there’s nothing stopping us, says Else. Read more about this trailblazing engineer and having a tunnel boring machine on the Cross River Rail named after her here: Cross River Rail project here: https://bit.ly/3rnSZuD
