22.01.2022 Amazing night at Oakbank Bowling Club for the HBA Championship Singles Semi-final and Finals night. We were well represented by Gill from Uraidla in the womens competition who fought back to win the semi final and while lost the Finals was a very competitive game. Congratulations to Julia from Woodside who won the last end 26-23. Also congratulations to Woodside winning the mens competition 25-14. Thank you Oakbank for the great venue and hospitality - job well done.... For those interested, the womens final end by end (Uraidla-Woodside) 2-0 first end, 2-1 measure, 2-3, 4-3 with rester, 7-3 not a tight head and measure for 3rd, 10-3, 10-5 very tight head this time, (Geoff measured for short kitty), 11-5, 12-5 measure, 12-6 very close, 12-7, 12-11 2 short 2 long - longs being ooh ahh s from us , 12-13, 13-13, 15-13, (men finished now), 15-15, 16-15, 16-17 measure, 17-17, 17-20, 19-20, (Val marking feeling the marathon), 21-23, 22-23, Julia wins 22-26 with one bowl to go!!! Thanks to the support of Uraidla members on the night - a great turn out. Best wishes to the Woodside winners in the next competition.
