18.01.2022 Movement is medicine - Every single system in our body relies on our MOVEMENT to function at its best. Our mental health and cognitive function depends on it, whether it be to help us explore and experience our world or to make us happier through hormones released during exercise. Our lungs and our heart require posture and endurance through movement to stay fit and healthy. Our gut system requires movement to stay functioning and in good working order. These are only a couple of ways our body systems rely on movement for effective function. You name it, our body needs us to move frequently and purposefully to stay active & healthy! #uraidlaphysio
14.01.2022 Your brain, your body and your mindset are heavily influenced by the quality and content of your self-talk... positive self-talk is kind, supportive and affirming... it’s that little voice saying I am making progress, or I will keep trying. Positive self-talk helps to achieve your goals... remember, your body hears everything that your mind says, so practice kindness with yourself by thinking kind thoughts!
12.01.2022 Welcome Alessandro! . Say g’day to our physiotherapist, Alessandro (Alesso) . Since graduating from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Alesso has worked tirelessly to develop his skills in injury prevention, high-performance injury management, and gym related injuries. ... In the musculoskeletal setting, Alesso has a special interest in low back pain, lower limb rehabilitation and shoulder injuries in both athletic populations and everyday people. . A self-confessed exercise lover, his admiration of human anatomy and fascination with biomechanics has been a significant motivator in pursuing a career in the physiotherapy industry. . When he’s not hanging out in the clinic, you’ll find Alessandro completing his Masters of Dietetics at Flinders, and Certificate III/IV in Personal Training. As a soldier with 5 years of service in the Australian Defence Force, he is an active member of the local and extended South Australian community, most recently serving for the KI Bushfires. . In his words... In my perspective, I believe the rewards of physiotherapy are best reaped when both therapist and client share a mutual understanding and motivation of meeting the client’s needs and goals. My approach is one of education, empowerment and evidence - nothing making me happier than seeing my clients smash their goals and kick their pain to the kerb! . Please make Alessandro feel welcome! . For bookings please call (08) 8390 3002. Alessandro will be available 8-12 Saturday mornings beginning in mid-February. See more
