25.01.2022 Geek Day - Friday 13 November. On Friday 13th November, Uralla Central School hosted our first Geek Parade. As the year has had numerous interruptions, we felt that ending on a positive (and fun) note would be quite fitting. As per the usual Book Parade, Years K - 4 were invited to dress up as their favourite book character. We are of course a central school, so Years 5 - Academy were invited to participate in cosplay (essentially adult dress up). In this way, we could come t...ogether as a school for a bit of fun. In order for the event to have one single name, we have dubbed it 'The Geek Parade'. Not only did all of the students look stupendous in their outfits, but numerous members of staff also took part, ensuring that the day was a hit. Unfortunately, the 'parade' part of the festivities had to occur within each individual classroom, but this did not stop everyone from enjoying themselves. We look forward to hosting another, even more successful, Geek Parade next year.'

09.01.2022 Northern Schools Steer Competition. Last week 16 students and two members of staff attended the Northern Schools Steer Competition in Glen Innes. The two day event was attended by 16 other schools. Uralla Central School took five steers to the event. Students participated in junior judging, parading and steer classes. Three students were awarded Highly Commended in junior judging and one student made the finals in the paraders, with many more unfortunate to have not placed. T...he steers performed exceptionally well on the hoof, placing 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th as well as Champion Heavy Weight steer and Reserve Heavy Weight steer and just missed out on Overall Grand Champion Steer of the show. The judge was very complementary of the steers we presented and said his decision for Grand Champion was a very difficult one. We are now waiting the results for the hook competition. The students did themselves proud and did Stand Talk and Walk Proud. Congratulations to all of those involved!
