25.01.2022 Yet another glowing review for BUSHPIG, 'hands-down the most intriguing show to surface in this year’s Fringe'. See it now at Urban Spaceman. Tickets through Fringe Tix (www.adelaidefringe.com.au).

22.01.2022 Today is the birthday of the great Kyle MacLachlan. Familiar from 'The Doors' and such notable flops as 'Showgirls' and 'The Flintstones' - he is best known as the leading man of David Lynch. His first two acting jobs were in Lynch's 'Dune' and 'Blue Velvet', whilst later he played the iconic Special Agent Dale Cooper in 'Twin Peaks'. Lynch commented on those roles: "Kyle plays innocents who are interested in the mysteries of life. He's the person you trust enough to go int...o a strange world with". MacLachlan is a dedicated oenophile, and is partners in 'Pursued by Bear', a winery in Washington's Columbia Valley. The name comes from the infamous stage direction ("Exit, pursued by a bear") in Shakespeare's 'The Winter's Tale'. However, nothing beats a damn fine cup of coffee. The Shop Is Now Open!

21.01.2022 Today is the birthday of Brian Jones, the founder of The Rolling Stones. Born Lewis Brian Hopkins Jones in 1942, he would have been 71 had he not died in '69, aged 27 - only one month after being fired from the band. Stones bassist Bill Wyman said of Jones, "He formed the band. He chose the members. He named the band. He chose the music we played. He got us gigs. ... Very influential, very important, and then slowly lost it -- highly intelligent -- and just kind of wasted i...t and blew it all away." The Italian fashion designer Anita Pallenberg has stated in an interview that Jones specifically wanted to look like the French pop-star Françoise Hardy, that he loved 'dressing up and posing about' and that he would ask her to do his hair and make-up. You can tell that from this photo. What a suit! The Shop Is Now Open.

17.01.2022 Here's another review for 'Bushpig'. To me, it was as though Roald Dahl adapted a Haruki Murakami novel for the stage. Which is pretty sweet. Get your tickets through Fringe Tix (www.adelaidefringe.com.au)... The Shop Is Now Open!

16.01.2022 Listening to this on the stereo in the shop. A customer asked me who the band was. Its always a kick to introduce someone new to Buzzcocks! ... Not sure on Pete Shelley's shirt though :/

15.01.2022 Hey All - You might be wondering what I'd been upto since the shop was closed. Well... I've decided to try my hand at my first great love, film-making. Along with my brother, I'm producing and directing a short film, 'Gag' - a black comedy come psychological horror about a failing stand-up comic.... We're running a Pozible campaign to help complete the funding. We're currently at 66% of our AU$2,500 target, with 13 days left to reach it. The rules of Pozible are that if you don't reach your target, you don't get anything - so if you'd like contribute (we have some great rewards on offer!) or just find out more, please click on the link below: www.pozible.com/gagshortfilm Thanks, and have a wonderful New Year!

15.01.2022 The Adelaide Theatre Guide has give 'BUSHPIG' 4.5 stars! 'This is the type of quality show that doesn’t come along often enough: everything just works. The characterisation is bang-on, Aussie-ness sharply observed and the script is classy and polished.' And that's just the tip of the iceberg. You can read the rest of the review on the website (http://www.theatreguide.com.au). ... BUSHPIG next plays this Thursday through to Saturday. In other news, this is the last week for 'The Blue Room', which is getting praise all over town (4 stars from the Advertiser!). Tickets for both shows are available through Fringe Tix - www.adelaidefringe.com.au
