With so much information out there, it’s easy to question whether choosing biodegradable over aluminium pods is really any better for the environment Let’s clear the air for you ... Our pods take around 2 years to break down in landfill, compared to aluminium which takes up to 500 years. Aluminium produces roughly 15.6 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of aluminium, which is 4x more than bioplastic. Over 70% of aluminium pods aren’t recycled globally, most likely because it’s inconvenient. We offer a convenient solution - treat your pods as general waste with peace of mind. No solution is perfect, we know that. These supercharged bliss balls by Peppers Kitchen are a perfect guilt-free treat for coffee lovers Here’s what you need 1 cup pitted dates, soaked... 1 cup rolled oats cup almonds cup cashews 2 TBS cacao powder 1 TBS maple syrup (optional) 2 short shots of your favourite Urban Brew pods Let’s put it together Add oats and nuts to your food processor and blitz until it forms a crumb. 09.01.2022 Have you ever thrown one of your dreams on the back burner? Maybe you thought it was silly, or there’s not enough time, or you’re not financially in a position to pursue it? This inspiring story is one of my favourite success stories, and may just be the kick of motivation that you need. You most likely know Jim Carrey, but you may not know the story that came with his success Being one of the most successful actors of all time, it’s hard to think he endured hardship and ...a string of failures through his early life. At just 14 years old, he and his family were living out of a camper van due to financial issues. He also worked as a janitor to help make ends meet, doing 8-hour shifts after school. Known as the class clown, he decided to attempt stand-up comedy at a local club, but he bombed and was booed off stage. Whilst this was disheartening, it only pushed him to improve his comedy skits He quit school and moved to LA to focus on comedy full time. Every night, he drove to Mulholland Drive to visualise his success and the things he wanted. This went on for years, but despite having little success and little money, he refused to give up. One night, he wrote himself a check for $10,000,000 for acting services rendered, dated it for three years in advance and slipped it in his wallet. Guess what? Just before that date, he received 10 million dollars for the box office hit Dumb and Dumber Jim Carrey credits his use of positive affirmations, visualisation and manifestation techniques to his rewarding career in acting. I personally use all of these techniques and can vouch for them! The moral here is to not give up in spite of hardship. 08.01.2022 11 years together and still strong (this photo is from 2009 eeek!). I’m not going to pretend our relationship is perfect, we’ve had our ups and downs like everyone else. But what I’ve learnt over the years is that the secret source to a strong relationship is EFFORT. Too many people think that if they find the right person it will just happen and if it doesn’t, then it wasn’t the right person. To be successful in other areas of our life it takes effort, so why should our ...relationships be any different? What does this look like for us? Here’s just a few examples... We pick 2-3 things we would like the other to improve at (i.e. Toby no work on weeknights/weekends to create more time for emotional engagement), then write a report card for each other at the end of each month (sounds childish I know, but bear with me!) I’ll be honest, I often fail on my report card but what it does is create an opportunity for us to discuss this each month - why I’m failing, what I can do differently, and how I can improve on something that is very difficult for me but hugely important to my partner. The key is success or fail, this creates the framework for COMMUNICATION Another tool which has helped our relationships is understanding each others' love language. There’s a whole book on this you can read called ‘The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate by Gary Chapman’ or you can cheat a little and take the quiz below, then decide to read the book if you want more info Nobody is left out here as there are quizzes for couples, kids, teens and singles... www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes In a way this relates to the 80-20 rule, which suggests that 20% of your effort will account for 80% of your results.
