16.01.2022 When I was a kid with big dreams I would listen to radio broadcasts of the Golden Guitar Awards live from Tamworth . I would hear my music heroes accepting the...ir awards and think wow !! I would love to do that one day .... what a distant dream !! I still pinch myself and can not believe I now have 5 of my own on the shelf at home !!! Thank you to all who have encouraged me along the way and have seen value in my music.... I love you Country Music ! See more

09.01.2022 11am Today Last night The Bushwackers were announced as the recipients of Australasian country musics greatest honours .. the Roll of Renown. If you would like... to witness the unveiling of their plaque on the rock out the front of TRECC it will be at 11am so please aim to be there by 10:30am. It’s a relatively short official event and all welcome. I don’t recall when I first met Dobe Newtone and Roger Corbett but it would have had to at least been 1979 when I started work at Radio 2TM. Here’s a self indulgent photo I snapped with each of them last night. Absolutely wonderful accolade.

07.01.2022 I must say I feel damn lucky to have worked for and alongside these men here. Max Ellis (bottom left) gave me my first job in 1979 at Radio 2TM Tamworth and 42 ...years later he, aged 84, is still a brainstrust whom I greatly admire. Top left is my current boss Barry Harley with whom was working at 2TM at the time that I started and yet he still employed me at Rural Press in 2004! You’d think he’d know better lol! Whenever I introduce him as my boss he always replies with do you think anyone could manage her not likely ha always a humble kind man who encourages his team to shine using their best abilities. He will do his very best to help anyone who asks and particularly loves those who are themselves driven and appreciate such support. Top right is Chris Watson who has been working from the time he was a young schoolboy. He’s tirelessly raising money for charities and with his own travel business has created a unique country music travel community taking tours to Nashville, a festival in Fiji and many Aussie festival bus trips always offering the Chris Watson experience where you’re never alone. He is one of the new entrepreneurs, a promoter and leader of this community and I will enjoy the few years of my working life working together on some projects. Bottom left is Peter Ross who is the most wonderful asset to our community as the manager of Entertainment Venues including the Tamworth Town Hall, Capitol Theatre and TRECC. He sources the best variety of shows for the community through the year and is an entertainer himself often starring in the local Musical Society shows. He’s such a creative man who never ever stops. He is producer of the Golden Guitars and both the regional community and our country music community can be grateful to have him. There’s a great deal I could learn from them ... still and always. Thanks boys.
