20.01.2022 UDIA NT launches Prosperity in the Territory The Urban Development Institute of Australia Northern Territory (UDIA NT) is raising the bar in 2020, calling on Government and policy makers to work with industry to unlock opportunities to grow the development industry through the launch of its 2020 Policy Agenda. The launch of the Prosperity in the Territory 2020 Policy Agenda is a cumulation of consultation in 2019 with its members, colleagues and the wider industry. Prospe...rity in the Territory outlines the UDIA NTs top policy priorities for change and is based around five key pillars that include Targeted Incentives, Streamlining the Development Approval Process, Infrastructure Delivery, Density and Infill Opportunities and Environment and Water Resources. This Policy agenda outlines how UDIA NT is championing the needs of the Northern Territory development industry to deliver the homes, jobs, infrastructure, services and amenities required now, and well into the future. UDIA NT is actively leading an agenda to drive change and we are hopeful that with cross-sectoral and Government collaboration, the urban development industry can build upon past successes and further enhance our ability to drive meaningful change that will achieve Prosperity in the Territory for all Territorians.

07.01.2022 The Urban Development Institute of Australia (NT) invites you to join us at a presentation by Professor Lawrence Nield on cooling Darwin. Professor Nield will be presenting the results of his temperature research for the Darwin CBD, which has been undertaken using new technology for Australia. The data addresses ground (and some wall) surface temperatures and includes a heat model for the whole of the city. Eleven heat mitigation strategies have been identified using the heat... mapping data and other research. How might the adoption of these heat mitigation strategies affect building designs and streetscapes in the CBD? What temperature reductions can we expect to achieve over the short and longer terms? What measures can be introduced now to reduce the impacts of heat radiating from existing building walls? Attendance at this event will enable you to fully understand the heat research which has been undertaken so far, as well as engage in discussion about how the development industry can contribute to the cooling of Darwin. emailing [email protected] by no later than midday Friday August 12th BOOKINGS: For catering purposes, please book your place for this event by VENUE: NAB Board Room, Level 1, 71 Smith Street Darwin COST: $25 per person.
