22.01.2022 Does your puppy eat its own poo? Canine Coprophagia is the official term for a dog that eats faeces. This is a surprisingly common issue. Some dogs eat their own faeces, while others are less discerning and will eat the stools of other animals. Some dogs are canine connoisseurs, preferring some types of poop to others. Many dogs enjoy kitty crunchies, raiding the kitty litter regularly, often while still warm! Coprophagia is usually a short-term issue. However, some dogs c...an become utterly obsessed with seeking out and eating faeces. These chronic coprophagics may have obsessive compulsive disorders. Although Coprophagia is generally harmless, it’s a repugnant habit. Occasionally, dogs may pick up parasites or viruses from the faeces of other animals. Dogs under one year old are most likely to be coprophagous. Fortunately, most dogs grow out of the habit by the time they reach their first birthday. See you soon. Paul & Danielle

Even when we couldn’t have people there, her awesome humans still entrusted us to look after her in lockdown playgroups. This week we worked on stationing from a distance in the Urban Off Leash Control course and Kesley could ask Seb to go to his mat around complex structures.... Seb the Shoodle and Kesley are a pretty amazing team. I think you’ll agree. Can your dog do better? If so we want to see it.

11.01.2022 Urban Puppy School - W2 - Socialisation In week 2 of our 6 week Urban Puppy School program we discuss socialisation, and how vital it is to socialise each one of your puppies senses daily; Touch... Taste Smell Sight Sound In week 2, we ask everyone to bring something that will change your appearance. It could be something as simple as pulling a suitcase along, holding an umbrella or riding a bike. We also request people to bring some novel food to share for the puppies in class to taste. Socialisation isn’t as simple as your puppy playing with another puppy. It’s about introducing your puppy to as many things as possible, that they will encounter throughout their in lives, and present these objects and experiences in a positive way. Set yourself a checklist for each day and you’ll be on the right path to having a confident, happy and emotionally resilient dog. Every day ask yourself, has my puppy seen something new, smelt something new, eaten something new, touched something new or heard something new today? Remember, never force socialisation upon your puppy, take your time and make sure they are having fun.

05.01.2022 Tonight's Classes Have Been Postponed Hi Everyone. Sadly, we have had to postpone all tonight's (27/10/20) classes.... If you have a puppy, get a ton of high-value treats ready, cheer, and reward after every thunderclap and lightning flash. Let's have your puppies look forward to storms instead of terrified. Remember storm phobias do not develop until between 3 years and 7 years of age. PLEASE bring your dog inside tonight if they are an 'outside' dog. These storms are looking pretty bad. Everyone in a course should have received an SMS by now and an email will follow with further information. Sadly, we have no control over the weather, and on occasion, classes have to be postponed.
