16.01.2022 There is no easy solution to homelessness. A person can find themselves experiencing homelessness for a range of reasons. Family and domestic violence, catastro...phic life events such as job loss, mental health issues, alcohol or drug use. When my Government was elected - we knew we had to do something to break the cycle. That’s why we have developed WA’s first 10-year homelessness strategy, in partnership with the community services sector. This is a strategy based on evidence and common sense, and backed with considerable resources. We will build two ‘Common Ground’ facilities to give those who are sleeping rough or experiencing chronic homelessness a place to call home and get their lives back on track. This is about actually achieving long-lasting results.
