14.01.2022 I love the faith, vision and determination of @destinyhavenau We have one exclusion tunnel for our strawberries and Chillies, let’s build another five It was a big project to tackle, with a big hearted group of people from @c3churchvictory over a few days in September we got it kicked along. Thanks to Brett @limestone_permaculture for the plans.... I had the great pleasure of doing a seed raising/ growing media workshop with a small group of women (Diamonds) and an impromptu Composting lesson with these eager learners. Two months on and tomatoes and strawberries are growing like crazy and a third tunnel was erected by Caterpillar. 14.01.2022 For four weeks of bathroom renovation this compost toilet has worked brilliantly. Powered by compost worms and shredded paper. The urine is diverted (and diluted) into a self watering pot plant, so there is no smell. We saved a heap of water and compared to hiring a porta-loo saved 100’s of dollars. With a bit of tweaking I might make available for hire?

08.01.2022 It was great to be serving last weekend alongside some great people @c3churchvictory for our @Cityserve Bush Food Garden Project at Jesmond Public School, so many people pulled together to make it happen. Thanks @speakingincolour for the feedback. 05.01.2022 Tomatoes and beans are going crazy in the Vegepod. Heirloom Black Russian, the beans missed being moved, have to stay put now. Hidden in there also are strawberries, shallots, succulent cuttings, rhubarb and rainbow chard seedlings. Over planted for sure but that’s how I roll.

04.01.2022 This is how I make great compost in 4 weeks 1) Prep - deep litter chicken pen, over 2 or 3 months, add lawn clippings, coffee grounds (2-3 bags a week from a coffee shop) weeds, and any twigs or pruning chopped up by the mower 2) Build the heap-if chickens aren’t over fed they’ll dig in and mix it well, rake it all out, wet it down, pile it up, ideally 1m x 1 m x 1m.
