21.01.2022 http:// Repost. @thelocalproject / Project Feature Stirred by a love of earthy tones and natural textures, The Pavilion acts as an extension to an existing established home, offering additional social space separate from the main dwelling. @gshepherdinterior takes cues from the original home and influential muses to create a space of soft organic qualities. 20.01.2022 Words from one of our Directors - Josh Semmler. // Despite all the challenges of 2020 there have been silver linings and opportunities to take out of the year. We have been inspired by others and ourselves in terms of design, detailing and exploration of materials. Some slower time to develop our design thinking, bolster our resources and secure some really great suppliers and collaborators have us energised to show everyone what we have been working on. With a great book of design projects in various stages, we are set for a strong finish to a remarkable year.

20.01.2022 Glenelg South // This project featured the minor demolition and modernising of an existing 1920's sandstone villa. The result? A spectacular and cohesive blend of old and new. Discover how Urban Habitats can design and build your dream renovation by visiting our website. www.urbanhabitats.com.au/projects/glenelg-south/

19.01.2022 @urbanhabitats_sa | A true connection to the landscape / design & construct by U.H

18.01.2022 @urbanhabitats_sa | Jock Merrigan - Founder and Managing director // As we start to see some light through the haze of the Pandemic we have been living and working in I have been reflecting on the positives that this time has provided us with and my thoughts continue to be with those who have been negatively impacted by the Pandemic. The lessons learnt during this time will be truly valuable moving forward and I am thankful for having such a great team, eager to do whatever... it takes when the future is uncertain. As an industry we were fortunate to be afforded the time to plan. Planning for a potential down turn / looking and planning for opportunities and planning and forecasting for various income scenarios (to be best prepared should they materialise.) Our UH team - including trades, suppliers, designers and clients have all been working positively throughout this time as we adapted quickly and worked efficiently even whilst social distancing. We have learnt that we can sometimes be more efficient when working from a home office - learning and using the benefits of zoom and being thankful for our great IT set-up on the cloud. We should all know the power of checking in. A phone call received from friends and /or industry peers simply checking in is such a simple way to boost morale and belief that we are all in this together. We are truly lucky to be living in South Australia, and we are excited to continue to design and build dream homes in this beautiful part of the world.

09.01.2022 / / Currently in design at Urban Habitats / / Through the use of honest materials - our C.H House responds to the site and is designed for great living. We believe in designing and building homes with atmosphere; when you can be in a room and something almost imperceptible affects you, changing your mood. It’s a curiosity that great planning can uncover and reveal. And it is most likely to occur when the design process is created in sympathy with the building process. ... We leave the ‘conflict’ between the design and making it happen, to others. #design #build #live

01.01.2022 @urbanhabitats_sa / Wonderful feedback from our Palmerston House clients: Watching people come and go on site - it was quite an experience for me. The carpenters and trades in general were just simply amazing people. Whether it was a bricky that ate raw onions or a young carpenter who was so proud of the work that he had done that he actually brought his parents through the house upon completion. Everyone took pride in what it was that they were doing.
