21.01.2022 When you do a plank, focus on your breathing! First, make sure you don’t hold your breath. Second (and just as important!), make sure you’re not breathing shallow breaths. By paying attention to your breath you will be able to hold the position longer but you’ll also be strengthening those deep core muscle (i.e., your body working the way it is meant to while breathing!).

21.01.2022 It’s time to get fit! We’re here to help you get into the best shape of your life, so come on and join us now!

14.01.2022 Did you know that studies show music helps to boost your workouts in two different ways: it can make exercises seem less intense AND also can help you work out longer. But there’s also something else you need to know If the music is too loud, it can actually hurt your hearing. ... When you’re working out, studies show you might actually be at MORE risk of suffering damage to your hearing... And this can affect ALL Of us if we’re not careful! If you’ve got your headphones in and are in the groove, it’s far too easy and tempting to turn up the volume. After a while, you just get used to how loud the music is and don’t even notice it. This is not a good thing, because over time you can actually start to lose your hearing! How loud is too loud? Sound is measured in decibels, and according to IDEA International Health & Fitness Association, music shouldn’t exceed 85 decibels. That’s about as loud as it gets in a noisy restaurant or when you’re in heavy traffic in a city. You can easily measure how loud music is at the gym by using a phone app decibel meter. Sound Meter is a popular choice. Most smartphones also let you set a volume limit for your headphones and earbuds.

05.01.2022 BY ELIZABETH GROSSMAN Nutrition Posted on: February 25, 2015 Update: On April 4, 2018, the USDA updated the Federal Register to allow carrageenan to be included in organic food, despite the National Organic Standards Board’s earlier vote to ban carrageenan. Scan the fine print on almost any processed food in the grocery store and you’re likely to find emulsifiers: Ingredients such as polysorbate 80, lecithin, carrageenan, polyglycerols, and xanthan and other gums, all of...Continue reading

05.01.2022 Are you physically Active? Staying physically active is the single most important thing we can do to stay fit and independent. As we grow older we lose muscle strength and sense of balance and this can lead to a fall. The more active we remain, the better the chance of keeping our muscles strong, our joints mobile and maintaining good balance. Staying active reduces our risk of a fall, which helps keep us independent and improves our overall health and wellbeing.... How much activity is enough? At least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, is recommended. The exercise should be brisk enough to increase your breathing and heart rate, although it doesn’t have to be so hard that you can’t talk. To reduce your risk of falling, it’s also important to include activities that improve your balance and increase your strength. By improving your balance and strength, you reduce your risk of falling and causing an injury or breaking a bone. And they keep you active enough to do the things you want to do. Here at Urban Personal Training we mix up the activities for you this will exercise different muscles and helps keep you interested too. Age is no barrier. See more
