18.01.2022 I usually dont fix up too many older players or players that we dont stock, but a young lad came into the store a few weeks ago, having just found this beauty on the verge collection and it was too good a find to not help him out with. A Linn Sondek LP12. Over 45 years old and it was still in its packaging, never having been assembled. We gave it a full rebuild and calibration and its up and running perfectly as it should. One of the finest turntables in the world, handmade in Scotland. What a beaut! Its ready for collection, but a part of me hopes it never gets picked up, what a great piece of history.

18.01.2022 Hi Everyone, In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak most of us are feeling confused, uneasy and second guessing a lot of the normal things wed usually do in our days. If we can put your mind to some ease, our shop takes hygiene and cleanliness extremely serious as everyone should. Since the outbreak we have used anti-septic all over the shop and are regularly sanitising our hands after each transaction. Its a worrying time for many people and many small businesses are suff...ering along with the arts industry. Some of you may have heard RECORD STORE DAY 2020 has also been postponed, another blow to independent record stores all over. Along with small business, the music and art industry is taking a really hard hit right now. Festivals, tours and concerts cancelling means income for musicians and all the people behind the scenes suffer. Touring and playing shows is the main source of income for musicians and their teams, second to merch and their own records. We understand staying home and not going out much because of the worry that surrounds us, just know that Urban Records/Depot is a safe, hygienic space right now in which (if you feel comfortable and are wondering how to support local businesses and musicians during this time) you can support those small businesses and favourite artists who are unable to perform for you.
