Tomatoes For us it has not been a great year for tomatoes, although we are pulling in around a punnet a day of tom thumb cherry tomatoes from 5 plants. 13.01.2022 What happens when you plant 48 corn, 48 eggplant and 25 sweet potato slips in the same 4m x 1.5m wicking bed? The raised veggie beds we install always produce pretty amazing vegetable yields. However this year, we decided to run an experiment in our larger garden bed to see if we could triple the yield with companion planting. 09.01.2022 This is an installation we did last weekend. This bed will get great sun in summer, and holds enough water in it's sub-irrigation system to only need watering 2-3 weeks after rain in Summer. During winter it is shaded so best placed to grow leafy greens, snowpeas, coriander and other less fussy vegetables, but will make it through most of the winter with no water topups at all.
