24.01.2022 Our Dearest ZUMBA FAMILY, Where has the year gone? This year has just flown past in a blink of an eye. Feels like we haven’t done much but we have gone through a lot. This year will be year that we will NEVER forget. The year that we fought for Toilet Paper and the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic where three months (between March May) the air was filled with uncertainty and never have we seen the supermarkets aisles ALL stripped down to nothing. The feeling that everyone see...med to be watching what you were shopping for and how much of each item you were purchasing? That said, we all managed to follow the guidance and direction of the Dept. of Health and fight this Pandemic and thanks to you and (everyone) in doing what we were asked to do. We are now in a very good position and as a result we are getting back to the sense of normality living in this blessed country and the NT bring the safest in the world and in Australia. From March our Zumba classes went from the usual face to face slowly reducing the numbers per room, then restrictions took place and had to temporarily cancel classes. Month in to the lockdown we started out virtual classes. May-June 2020 things in the NT improved substantially where the NT Gov allowed to reopen on the condition of a COVID-19 Safety plan. Months pass and the so called New Normal kicked in, with protocols in place to protect the community in the event of a community outbreak. Let us reflect back the year 2020 and see what highlights took place o Launched our new Saturday morning class in the Palmerston Recreation Centre o Launched additional class on Thursday in Harmony Hall o Australia Day Fun Run o Hosted the Feb Fit (Hot 100/Mix 104.9) o Launched website https://www.urfitnessdj.com.au o Transitioned fully to online bookings and payments o 1st demo after lockdown at the Palmerston Markets o Collaborated with TEZC, successfully fundraised $10,000 for Apryl Get Up and Dance o Demo at Relay for Life (Cancer Council NT) o Demo at the Philippine Barrio Fiesta o Santa Fun Run Even with a Pandemic in the midst we have achieved quite a lot. Deep down we thank you all We hope and pray that 2021 will continue to fight this Pandemic and a vaccine becomes available. That said we are all blessed to be living here in Australia and in the Northern Territory being the safest in the country and the world where we have had no community transmission. As years go by we will look back and you can be proud how we all handled this unforgettable event. All the best for 2021 and will see you all next year to dance with you as we continue to announce new innovations, programs and moves for you all.
