25.01.2022 Disease prevention vs disease treatment... The USCOM 1A allows early detection of changes in circulation. Early detection of raised blood pressure in pregnancy is key to rapid and optimised treatment of preeclampsia.... The more severe your hypertension and the earlier it occurs in your pregnancy, the greater the risks for you and your baby. Do you know someone who is pregnant? Do they know about Preeclampsia? Spread the word... Image: micrograph of hypertrophic maternal blood cells which cause injury to blood vessels in preeclampsia and gestational hypertension.

25.01.2022 Today is World Sepsis Day! Sepsis is a common and serious condition associated with shock, multiple organ failure, and death. Early recognition and treatment of sepsis saves lives. USCOM 1A enables early, non-invasive and reliable access to advanced hemodynamics, and is quick and easy to operate for widespread implementation. 24.01.2022 Screening for Preeclampsia: Preeclampsia, in all of its forms, can mean a lot of testing, both during and after pregnancy. The cause of preeclampsia is incompletely understood, but the disorder is thought to be due to placental malperfusion resulting from abnormal remodeling of maternal spiral arteries. ... It is currently considered that this maternal endothelial dysfunction is induced by the release into the maternal circulation of excess placental factors (such as sFLT-1 a soluble receptor for and PlGF). Detection (by blood test) of a high ratio of sFlt-1 to PlGF is associated with an increased risk of preeclampsia. But doesn't this test seem too far along the pathophysiological timeline of preeclampsia? What are your thoughts? #USCOM1A #Preeclampsia #PERT #Hemodynamics #Pregancy #Mother #Baby #MaternalHealth #5WeeksGestation #20WeeksGestation #AntenatalCare #NonInvasive

21.01.2022 Uscom has received new US and European Patents for a revolutionary Uscom Cardiovascular monitor. The novel technology combines the clinical strengths of the USCOM1A and Uscom BP+ providing unique non-invasive measures of the function of the heart and vessels. Uscom CEO Associate Professor Rob Phillips said, This technology is an important step forward for clinical medicine. Cardiac volume and pressure loops are the holy grail in cardiovascular physiology, but have only pr...eviously been available using invasive cardiac catheters and transducers with all their complications. This new non-invasive technology combines the clinical strengths of our sector leading USCOM 1A and the Uscom BP+, and will provide us with accurate and universally applicable clinical cardiovascular measures. The new monitoring should be feasible in neonates, children, adults, and in the elderly and will improve patient care and outcomes in heart failure, hypertension and sepsis. This new patent allows Uscom to continue in its mission of developing non-invasive, practice changing devices capable of significantly improving patient outcomes. #device #medicine #technology

18.01.2022 Merry Christmas from Uscom team! Let's give Australia's wildlife hope for the coming Christmas and New Year. Australia is facing an extinction crisis. Right now, 1800 Australian animals and plants are at risk of being added to Australias appalling extinction record. Predation by feral cats and foxes, poor fire management and feral herbivores are key factors driving the planets highest rate of mammal extinctions.... Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) is implementing a radical new conservation model that works. Using science-based metrics, which track the population of key species and our success in reducing key threats, show we are bucking the trend, delivering great ecological outcomes for wildlife like the Bilby, Northern Quoll and Purple-crowned Fairy-wren. Importantly, AWC are producing a high ecological return at a lower cost. Uscom supports AWC as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme. #MerryChristmas #happynewyear2020 #AWC #wildlifeconservation #donate #Uscom #CSR

12.01.2022 Alan Kohler discusses Uscoms pre-Q3 results; profit, triple digit cash receipt growth, cash flow positivity and growing cash reserves for the Eureka Report. The interview deals with the companys progress as the China economy passes through the COVID-19 crisis and comes rebounding out of the shutdown. Q3 is the first which includes results from the newly established Uscom China, and principally reflects revenue from the new distribution model in China, supplemented by order...s from COVID-19 specific installations. Many current Chinese tenders will be granted over the next 12 months as ICU's are upgraded nationwide, and its expected that the recommendation for the use of USCOM 1A for treatment of severe Coronavirus patients by the Chinese Health and Medical Commission of the Peoples Republic of China will impact purchasing decisions of Hospitals and clinicians foreseeably. While Uscom has spent the last two years developing its new China operations, the impact of the COVID-19 spread to Europe and the US is now also beginning to impact operations and sales pipelines there also. These matters and more are discussed in the interview. Reade more https://lnkd.in/ddgHtK9. #Kohler #USCOM #profit #growth #COVID-19 #China

07.01.2022 The USCOM 1A is now commissioned into 51 of Chinas COVID-19 designated hospitals in the cities of Wuhan, Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Xiamen, Tianjin, Guangzhou etc. These installations are part of a strategic expansion of critical care services for the management of COVID-19 and other seasonal infectious diseases. Severe COVID-19 patients most commonly die of cardiovascular failure from septic shock rather than respiratory failure, so while ventilators are common, it is USCOM ...1A which contributes to saving the lives of patients with severe COVID-19. The Health and Medicine Commission of the Peoples Republic of China recommended the USCOM 1A as the choice of care for the treatment of adults and children with severe COVID-19 cases in its most recent Guidelines. USCOM 1A provides non-invasive, rapid, and accurate monitoring of cardiovascular function allowing immediate and precise diagnosis and optimal choice of therapy in sepsis.
