15.01.2022 THE JACOB MABB AWARD This award was created in 2019, a year where we dedicated our season to Mabby. We incorporated him into our pre-game rituals, honoured him with a plaque in our change shed and cemented that dedication by naming an award after him. This award goes to someone who played the way that he played, someone who is competitive, relentless in everything they do, never takes a step back, sets high standards and expects their team to do the same. It was an honour... to present this award for the 2nd year in a row. The nominees were Megan Prinsloo - the womens fearless leader put her body on the line with bone chilling hits and determined runs each game. Jason Swart - played in 6 positions in the colts backline this year and put his body on the line in every game, he wasn't afraid to take on guys bigger than him and knock them on the ground in both attack & defence. Matt Lieder - dedicated to his craft, he's the most competitive person on the field, he has high expectations of himself and the team he leads. He's a warrior. Matty is a lot like Mabby, players love to play with him and are better players for sharing the field with him. Matt Lieder took home the 2nd annual Jacob Mabb Award.

01.01.2022 One of our senior mens players - Mitch Portors is participating in a fitness challenge fundraiser to raise money for prostate cancer research. He chose this charity because his father, Chris was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019, so this cause is very dear to his heart. He will be attempting the 48hr fitness challenge popularised by former navy seal David Goggins. For this challenge Mitch will be running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, totalling 48 miles (77.25kms).... The challenge will begin at 8pm Monday Jan 4th and will continue as follows: 8pm - Leg 1 12am - Leg 2 4am - Leg 3 8am - Leg 4 12pm - Leg 5 4pm - Leg 6 8pm - Leg 7 12am - Leg 8 4am - Leg 9 8am - Leg 10 12pm - Leg 11 4pm - Leg 12 I would really appreciate any support and would love some running partners on a leg or two. #showyoursupport
