19.01.2022 We are delighted to re-open the doors to the Arts Theatre at USQ and welcome you back! Make sure you book tickets in advance to ensure COVID compliance - see below for more info! All seats are allocated so we ask you to book in advance. Join us for a special production of Arthur Miller's The Crucible, featuring our graduating company of actors. As the threat of the supernatural looms over the sleepy town of Salem, no one is safe. Neighbours turn on neighbours, friends turn... on friends, and a community is town apart on the strength of words alone. Arthur Miller's iconic exploration of blind faith, mob mentality and the power of the unknown continues to pose the question as to whether we are on the right side of history. Join Company 2020 for their final production, as we reach the melting point of the destructive union of the Church and State in 1692 Salem. Company 2020 have had a year unlike any other graduating company of actors. Not only did their learning shift to online during lock down, but they have worked across the summer to complete their show reels and now this production as their final piece of assessment Many of our graduating students have already begun working with and for Brisbane based companies over the last several months, as actors and collaborators, with many more beginning start-up artistic ventures of their own in the coming months. Performances will be held on January 27, 28, 29 and 30, at 7pm at the USQ Arts Theatre. The play runs for approximately 2.5 hours , including a 20 minute interval. All tickets are free for this production as we welcome audiences back into our theatre after 2020's shutdown, however, due to COVID compliance you must book an allocated seat for each guest in advance of the performance date. Please book here http://ow.ly/gXDw50De6bx All guests will be required to check in using a QR code, in line with the university's COVID Safe Plan.

07.01.2022 Ordinary Men Who Made a Difference. That is the name of the exhibition in the USQ's School of Creative Arts Gallery currently that we invite you to view. Cur...ated by David Martinelli and Bev Lacey, this exhibition consists of 50 portraits, taken by David Martinelli, of men who at different stages from his late teens through fatherhood, have made an impact. The project spanned seven years and has become more than a collection of portraits, instead a public acknowledgement of the impact this group of men made on the artist's life, and that they should be honoured. David has partnered with the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, providing the proceeds from the sale of the accompanying book to the Foundation's cause. If you've attended a McGregor School, you'd know David Martinelli as the photographer that visits your studio to capture your class photo and your works of art! If you're in Toowoomba, we invite you to visit the USQ Arts Gallery and this inspirational collection of photographs. Gallery Opening Hours are Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm, USQ Arts Gallery, A Block. USQ 18 Feb to 18 Mar. See more
