24.01.2022 Dear SABS members, A conversation could change a life R U OK? Day is on Thursday 10 September 2020. Its a national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with lifes ups and downs. ... 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. Access the RUOKDay2020 Guide here: https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com//RUOKDay2020_GuidetoSu Always remember that 'There's more to say after R U OK?' Feel free to reach out to any SABS executive and we will be more than happy to lead an ear.

24.01.2022 In remembering the ANZACS, we can pay the ultimate respect to their sacrifice by enduring our own current extraordinary circumstances with dignity and patience. That is traditionally what the Australian Spirit is all about, perseverance in the face of adversity. .

20.01.2022 Being at home can be hard. We miss the hustle and bustle that comes with going to university. But let us remember that we can power through these hard times together. Here are some tips that can make being at home a more positive experience ~ Dont wake up 10 minutes before a morning class and sit in pyjamas. Take some time out to get ready and it will instantly put you in a correct mind frame. Also, follow the same university schedule and attend classes in realtime instead... of watching the recording later because we all know how hard it is to get to it later on. We all love a good weekday dinner or Friday night drinks with our friends, so why stop all of that. Dedicate some time to virtual socialising and re-connect with friends, especially those in different time-zones. You can virtually cook, paint, watch a movie together, among many other things. Set out dedicated hours to do things, so that you dont feel all over the place. This is the perfect time to build and understand what routine you would like to have and work at making it a habit. And once its time to go out again, your routine will help you in living a more rewarding day. Finished attending a 3-hour lecture or finished cleaning your room? Yes, these tasks can be made rewards oriented. Reward yourself at the end of tasks with maybe 30 mins of Netflix, or a piece of chocolate, or a quick nap. Do what you have to do to keep yourself motivated and things will no longer seem as mundane. It's very important to dedicate some time daily, even if it's just 20 mins to start with, to work out. Not only will your body become stronger which is what we need at times like this, but working out also releases endorphins that make us feel happy and positive, and who doesnt want to be happy! We hope this helps! #universityofsydney#businessschool#stayathometips#SABS#motivation
