18.01.2022 Another busy week....Karla presented on behalf of the Telehealth Access Made Easier project at the Aged Care Services Tasmania project in Launceston. Thanks to Mark Kirschbaum for stepping in as the Chairperson for this workshop, and thanks also to Darren Grattidge, the UDRHs official photographer, for making himself available. Joys been out at and about training health professionals at Oatlands. Heathers workshops with Dr Michael Carr-Gregg - the nationally registered child and adolescent psychologist - were a huge success. We congratulate Michael (and his lovely wife Mel) on becoming parents to a healthy baby boy. A special welcome back to Dr Jess Woodroffe - Jess, we missed you! And we welcomed a number of new staff and PHCRED students to the UDRH at a morning tea.



17.01.2022 This is the first weekly round-up of UDRH goings-on. Firstly, congratulations to Stuart Auckland for joining the TML Board and to Dr Sue Whetton for graduating with a PhD last week. The Distributed Simulation Project team has been touring the state filiming virtual orientation tours of various rural health facilities and our receptionist Emily is learning how to code credit cards. We also said farewell to Kim who has moved to the Finance Hub and wish her well in her new position. We are now well and truly settled into our new offices so if youre at the Newnham campus, come and see us downstairs in E Building. We serve excellent coffee :-)

07.01.2022 Busy week last week: Mark Kirschbaum, our Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer, attended the UTAS Open Day at Burnie to promote pharmacy as a career; Dr Sue Whetton was in Copenhagen presenting a paper at a health informatics conference; and the Rural Health Week website was updated for 2013 (www.rhwtas.com.au). Applications for funding are due at the end of the week!
