25.01.2022 This beautiful song 'Can I be Loved' by second year student Elijah Oakford is an example of the great work done by the Songwriter class this semester. For the recording Elijah collaborated with Commercial Music Creation student Kenny King. #Utasmusic

14.01.2022 Semester one presented significant challenges to making music as an ensemble. But that didn't deter the students of the Conservatorium Big Band, who along with their leader Les Johnston, have done a great job delivering this cracking rendition of 'Lot of Livin' To Do' composed by Charles Strouse & Lee Adams, featuring vocals by Claire Vout. #Utasmusic

14.01.2022 On Thursday the Conservatorium Big Band head off on tour to give concerts in Launceston and Burnie. They will be joined by vocalist Claire Vout and singer/songwriter Ruby Austen Lund to present a program of classic swing and fresh originals. We wish them well on their travels.

14.01.2022 A poignant new song from Mia Palencia, our Associate Lecturer and coordinator of Songwriting. Beautiful music, of and for our times. A question posed and a call to action. #Utasmusic

14.01.2022 Lots of Pianos being brought down to the ground floor! The last step in preparations before the big move to the Hedberg starting this week. #Utasmusic

13.01.2022 The Red Lion Drum Corps like everyone lately, has had to adjust their methods for making music together. For this performance they’ve replaced their drums with practice pads so landlords, flatmates and neighbours didn’t make trouble. If you look carefully, you’ll see the bass drum has been artfully played on an empty plastic storage container! Here they are with their teacher Stephen Marskell, performing 'EUSPBA 50th Anniversary Drum Salute’ by Harry Meade. #utasmusic

04.01.2022 Oliver Marshall is a member of the Experimental Music Ensemble. His piece ‘Daily Routines’ is just one of the fascinating works from a podcast they created this semester to a specific brief.
