22.01.2022 Dear Tiger Families, The UTJFC executive committee would like to thank everyone for their kind messages that have been sent through or posted. Thank you also to all of our general committee, coaches and team support members who put in a heap of work prior to the pandemic and then recommitting when we looked a chance of returning.... We are very proud to represent such a close community club and we will miss getting to see all our wonderful families this year. Next year is going to be a huge year for our club with a few different projects going on and we hope all our families will be geared up for a massive 2021 season. On a side note if we have a draft person in the club that may be willing to help us with one of these projects please contact [email protected] for more information. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanking everyone again. The UTJFC Executive Committee
19.01.2022 Dear Tiger Families, It is with great disappointment that with yesterdays announcement of a return to Level 3 restrictions and lockdown, I have today been advised by the AFL Outer East League that the 2020 season has been cancelled. The league feels and I have to agree that with no guarantee of a return post lock down and not knowing how the restrictions will be eased after the 6 week period it would be unfair on the players, volunteers and the community to keep trying to wo...rk towards the unknown. To those that have paid their club registration fee this can be rolled over to the 2021 season or if you require a refund please contact Bree Winbanks ([email protected]) who will organise this for you. With the league player registration fee there will be the option to have the fee refunded to yourself or it can be provided to the club. The league will advise in August how either of these two options can be processed. In light of the cancelled 2020 season the AFL Outer East have also announced that for the 2021 season they will transition to odd age core age groups (9,11,13,15,17). I have attached the official public announcement from AFL Outer East. On behalf of the UTJFC committee I would like to thank all our families who have been so supportive and understanding during this very difficult year. Supporting our Tiger families We really enjoyed seeing the return of all our Tiger families and we will really miss seeing all our kids progress this year. With the reintroduction of the Level 3 restrictions and lockdown we know that this will put a lot of extra stress on our families both mentally and financially. Therefore we also wanted to provide support to our Tiger families. If you have been hit hard by the reintroduction of the restrictions and are in need of assistance, please reach out to us and we will put a call out to our community to try to assist. We hope to connect families in need, with families that can help, whether it be in supplying meals or groceries etc. Please email [email protected] if you need support, you will remain anonymous, with the exception of one Committee member. 17.01.2022 Good Evening Everyone, We are finally in a position where we can start having our players return to training. Based on information provided by AFL Victoria and AFL Outer East our committee and our coaches have agreed to slowly return teams to training over a number of weeks. This ensures that we are able to establish an environment that is as safe as possible for everyone involved. Upcoming Key Dates:... Phase 1 Return to training Thursday 11th June - U17 Girls and U16 Boys return to training Monday 15th June - Both U12 Boys return to training Wednesday 17th June - Both U14 Boys return to training Monday 22nd June - Expected further easing of restrictions Phase 2 return to training Monday 29th June - U9 Boys and U10 Girls return to training Wednesday 1st July - U12 Girls return to training Friday 3rd July - U10 Boys return to training Sunday 26th July - Expected start of season Phase 2 of returning to training may change depending on easing of restrictions and advice from AFL Victoria and AFL Outer East. With the start of the season not expected until late July early August we felt it best that we dont rush our younger age groups back. This will still give them a 4 week block before the season starts with the hope that restrictions are eased further by then. There will be a following email to this outlining the clubs return to training safety plan. Please share this post. -- Kind Regards, The Committee of Upwey Tecoma Junior Football Club

15.01.2022 Hi Tiger Families, While we are waiting for football to come back here are some highlights from our last premiership.
14.01.2022 Hello Tiger Families, As I was looking through our footy flashbacks I found I was mistaken about our last premiership side. How could I forget our U10 Girls Lightning Premiership winners for 2019 in their first year of football for some 2nd year for most. (Anthony Jones I had to make sure I used the right photo. ) Also due to the time of year it is I should mention our U10 Boys Lightning Premiership winners. This competition was held this time 2 years ago. Not a bad present... for the mums although I dont think it was a very popular idea leading up to Mothers Day. Go Tigers

05.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their support during this period. I just wanted to reach out further to the information that was sent out last week. ... With the raising of restrictions constantly changing we have not been able to receive the guidelines around a return to training as of yet. We are hoping to have this by the end of the week. What we do know is that it will be a slow and gradual return to training and there are going to be a number of procedures that we will need to put in place and follow prior to, and during training. We are hoping to start some teams back over the next couple of weeks and slowly ramp up from there. Im sure all of our players are keen to come back, but we need to make sure we do this as safely as possible with the health of our players, parents and volunteers our main priority. On a separate note during this time we have been going through the process of moving our hosted email and we have come across some issues with this and being able to send emails out to all our members. This is the reason why there has not been a lot of communication through email. We hope to have this rectified very soon. I will be in touch again once we have a clear plan for returning to training. Stay safe everyone and I hope to be able to see you all soon.. Brendan Ferguson President

03.01.2022 Hi Tiger Families, It has been a while since we reached out and checked in with everyone. We hope that you are all keeping well and staying safe during these very difficult times.... Im guessing like me all of you have had your days where you have struggled and I know there will be some of you that would be reading this and thinking "Geez to only struggle some days would be nice" To everyone please dont feel that your struggle is insignificant compared to others or you dont want to burden others with your problems. If you are struggling please reach out as there is plenty of help available. To those that have not heard from people that you would normally expect to, maybe check in with them and ask R U OK? 01.01.2022 I would like to pass on a massive belated thank you to Maria and the staff at Dandenong Ranges Community Bank Group Upwey Bendigo Bank for your generous donation towards our Upwey Tecoma Auskick Centre. This will go a long way to providing new equipment to our future junior players for next year.
