25.01.2022 UTP would like to congratulate all of the New South Wales based arts organisations that have been awarded Create NSW funding. We want to thank the assessment board for recognising the work we have done to support cultural practitioners over the past four years, and solidifying our connection with over 400 cultural practitioners from NSW over the next four years to come. We have no doubt that these decisions were very difficult to make, as we recognise the level of excellence shown by our peers who were not successful with being funded. We look forward to working with Create NSW over the next four years to develop new work, reach new audiences, and ensure artists voices are heard.

25.01.2022 Our friends at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre have just launched an exciting exhibition curated by emerging Western Sydney curator and art star, Shivanjani Lal. Bittersweet is a poignant showcase of contemporary Fijian art and storytelling, focusing on the ways in which ideas around food, language, and art are interpreted by those living in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. It captures the experiences of iTaukei (Indigenous Fijian) and Indo-Fijian artists, and how their connection to Fiji colours their art. Bittersweet runs until 27 September, with an extended digital program going live from 28 September. Find out more here or via the link below -> http://ow.ly/tPOr50AVUfS

24.01.2022 We're super excited to invite you to join us at 1pm this Wednesday for 'As We Know It', the third experimental live broadcast of our Dream Sequence program by poet Evelyn Araluen. After six months of quarantine and social distancing the terms, relationships, and rituals which reinforce our sense of social and cultural reality are losing their validity. Or at least they are for writer Evelyn Araluen. For a world in the death-throws of late capitalism, things are quiet in thi...s house. Whats the point of poetry at the end? Whats the point of pants when no one will see them? The author isnt dead, but shes running a depression-meal cooking show in her kitchen. Interweaving poetry, theory and video, this work contemplates personal registers of global transformation in the midst of a stage four lockdown. Dream Sequence is a monthly series of digital artist residencies, experimental live broadcasts, and artist conversations. The title references the dystopian surrealist state we currently live in, while invoking a hopeful way forward into the future. Closed captions and a transcript of this performance will be available via the Dream Sequence website from Monday 31st August. 17.01.2022 Our friends at Pari have just launched the registration for Gudskul workshop: Speculative Collective! Speculative Collective was conceived as a tool to explore forms of collectivising through direct practice, forming a kind of know-how. In a loosely defined process, Gudskul invites strangers to meet and share what they consider to be knowledge by playing the roles of both teacher and student in a quick reciprocal exchange. This newly formed pair must then couple with an...other pair, forming a temporary collective. This workshop is open to all Australian-based participants. You dont have to be an artist to participate. If youre part of a collective yourself thats great! Its best if only one person from the group participates as this workshop is about connecting people with different kinds of knowledge who dont already know each other. Find out more and register here: https://pariari.org/p2p/@gudskul
