18.01.2022 Congratulations to Dr Qilin Wang who took out a 2020 Australian Museum Eureka Prize, the nation’s highest-profile science awards for his ground-breaking work on green technologies to transform sewage treatment plants into energy producers. https://bit.ly/3fIKxkB

16.01.2022 At UTS, food waste from kitchen green bins is being transformed into compost and used to grow organic garlic. This creates a 'circular economy where waste is captured as a resource and fed back into the system. It's part of an innovative project involving our researchers and students, collaborating with operations and communications staff. If we've whet your appetite, find out more at https://bit.ly/3lYUH2F

15.01.2022 When you visit UTS Library, you’re surrounded by creativity. There are exhibitions for all disciplines! Currently on level 7 at UTS Central, you'll find an immersive display titled "Selfie Rooms: Escape reality with UTS Library". There you can choose a room, step inside, strike a pose and tag @utslibrary #selfieroomsUTS. This year’s Creative in Residence, Cherie Fahd, had contributors insert handwritten notes into the Library’s collection for future strangers to find. So if... you’re lucky, you might even find a little slice of creativity next time you borrow a book! Read more about what your Library has on offer at: https://bit.ly/3l8QI2f

12.01.2022 UTS Central is a winner! Our newest campus building has picked up three awards from the Master Builders Association NSW, including the overall Outstanding Construction Award. Congratulations to head contractor Richard Crookes Constructions and everyone involved in bringing the building to life.

11.01.2022 This month, UTS Library celebrates its first birthday in UTS Central, the heart of UTS campus! To celebrate this momentous occasion, we’re highlighting some of best aspects of the Library you might not have had a chance to use yet. Let there be light! Located on level 5, the UTS Reading Room is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots on campus (and that’s saying a lot)! Inspired by traditional academic spaces, the UTS Reading Room is the perfect place for quiet study, research, or just enjoying a good book. The high ceilings and huge glass windows let natural light stream in, boosting productivity and powering you up for a successful study session. Read more at: https://bit.ly/3pULnPB

09.01.2022 We want all members of our UTS community to be safe. During these isolating times, it’s important to stay connected to your friends, family and community. This means regular check-ins and knowing how to spot this signal for help. This one-handed sign can be used on a video call to show that a person needs help and wants someone to check in with them in a safe way. Learn more uts.ac/helpvideocall The Signal for Help was launched by the Canadian Women’s Foundation in response to COVID-19, and is now being shared all around the world. #ViolenceAgainstWomen #signalforhelp #respectnowalways #consentmatters Please remember that help and support is available for those experiencing, or are concerned about, sexual assault: uts.ac/support

09.01.2022 The problem starts with us, the non-Aboriginal Australians. It begins, I think, with an act of recognition. Recognition that it was we who did the dispossessing. We took the traditional lands and smashed the traditional way of life. - Paul Keating. 04.01.2022 There is always a path to UTS. Discover yours at Info Days. https://bit.ly/2HCb46q The pathway I used to get into uni was UTS Insearch. It helped me to fast track into the second year of my UTS degree. The study experience was great, with constant support from great teachers, small class sizes and a multicultural environment. It felt like the perfect bridge between high school and university, and really prepared me for entering UTS Pramesh (B. Science in Information Technology)
