21.01.2022 Here at UTS, we're proud of our reputation as a sector leader for diversity and inclusion. The UTS Athena SWAN Bronze Action Plan consists of 68 projects for gendered workforce inclusion, supporting an overarching target of 40 per cent academic women in STEMM by 2022. 21.01.2022 Earlier this week, the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion were delighted to launch Samantha Donnellys design guide for refuge accommodation for women and children. UTS Scholarly Teaching Fellow Samantha Donnelly's research focuses on women's refuges and the provision of housing for women and children escaping domestic violence. This design guide offers a series of principles to address the specific issues around accommodation for women and children who have experienced violence. 19.01.2022 A recent study by UTS academics found men dominate Australian media's quoted sources, political opinion columns and bylines. How do you get your voice heard, your story published, your opinion represented in the media - if you're a woman? Women working for advocacy and for-purpose organisations are welcome to join peers to discuss answers and get real advice from the women at the coalface of the media in Australia at UTS: University of Technology Sydney on 30 October from 3....30pm. 11.01.2022 Last week, Shopfront delivered another round of very high quality projects with UTS Business student consulting teams. Students presented their business planning reports to community clients Engineers Without Borders, Inner West Tool Library, Ruff Sleepers, The Happy Hens, Women for Election Australia, and Tranby National Indigenous Adult Education and Training. Fantastic job everyone!

08.01.2022 Last week, UTS hosted the inaugural Sustainable Christmas Markets, held in the UTS Tower Building with UTS: Green. One of the stallholders was Manly Food Co-Operative (MFC) who, this semester, worked with a student design team from UTS: Design, Architecture & Building as part of the Socially Responsive Design subject. MFC didn't waste any time in putting the students' work into action on their tote bags, flyers and branding. The markets were a massive success and we're pleased to say that MFC love their new design deliverables.

07.01.2022 Last week, students from UTS: Design, Architecture & Building taking the Socially Responsive Design class, presented their final projects to community clients at an action-packed day where 32 projects of a very high quality were handed over! Student teams have spent the past three months working alongside their real-world clients (small to medium sized not-for-profits) to produce some professional and beautiful design projects. 01.01.2022 A huge congratulations to the Event Creation lab student team from UTS Business who designed and managed a fundraising event for medical charity Smile for ME! The event raised almost $5000, to help out children in the Philippines born with cleft lip & cleft palate deformities.
