22.01.2022 Our President has an important message to the deliver to the community of UTS. ---------------------- It comes with great sadness that at the end of this month I will be moving on from my role as the President of the UTS Swimming Club. ... I have had an incredible journey as the leader of this club and at times tough and emotional. I remember on my first day at UTS I was walking around the sport stalls on O-Day and it was sad to see there was no swim club at the time. I always wondered what happened to the club. I decided to change that however and had approached UTS Sport about bringing the club back to life again. They werent too familiar of who I was as a swimmer and I could tell they had a little doubt about me. As a young 19 year old at the time I had big aspirations as to how I wanted to transform the club to what it is now. Our athletes who have represented our club over the last few years have achieved some great things. How I wanted to make the swimming club one of the best clubs at UTS Sport was not only through our achievements but also setting the right culture from a social perspective and influencing others to be the best they can be through positive leadership. To make people join a club you have to give them a reason to do so but for them to stick around they will have many reasons to do so. On the 28th February O-Day 2019 will be the last event the UTS Swimming Club will be attending for a while however any new students or old I encourage you to join a club and try something new regardless of what your school mates might think of you. University is a place that will change you and whilst it will challenge you at times it will bring the best out of you. Swimming has been a sport that has been in my life for an eternity and has given so much to me. I served the UTS community to my absolute best and I honestly wont forget the last two years! They have been amazing! Thank you all! See you all for one last time at O-Day! Ben Gleeson President of the UTS Swimming Club

12.01.2022 We are absolutely devastated to announce the passing of Kenneth To, former student at UTS and one of the best swimmers to ever represent our university in history. As a community we are extremely heartbroken to have come across this news as Kenneth inspired many swimmers not only apart of the UTS community but many across the world. Kenneth represented UTS in the 2015 World University Games, an event which sees some of the worlds best university student athletes come toget...her to compete. He is pictured below on the left alongside fellow team mate Matt Treloar. (University of New South Wales) Kenneth To had an extremely successful swimming career where he holds 2 Australian Records in the 100m and 200m Individual Medley events (SC). From 2016, he began to represent Hong Kong where he achieved further success and holds a staggering 16 national records. He was also the male overall winner at the 2012 FINA Swimming World Cup and won a silver medal in the 100m Individual Medley at the 2012 World Short Course Championships behind notable swimmer Ryan Lochte. Kenneth will be remembered as a humble and dedicated athlete. At the peak of his career he was one of the best short course swimmers in the world. He made a huge mark and we are so proud to have had him apart of our team. Most of all Kenneth will never be forgotten for his contribution to UTS Swimming and also the sport of swimming. We send our condolences to Kenneths family, friends and coaches during this extremely tough time. We wont forget you Kenny Rest in Peace Kenneth To (7 July 1992 - 19 March 2019)
