24.01.2022 Another of our new students, Eryn! "I’m Eryn, I’m 22 years old and am currently in my first semester of the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at UWA. I did my undergrad here as well and loved it! I work as an Accredited Exercise Scientist in rehab and sports medicine for NDIS clients at a private clinic in Perth. If I’m not at EPC or work, I like going camping and boating with my family, and playing netball as well. I am really interested in neurological rehabilitation a...nd aim to pursue a career down that path. I’d love to work with people with neuromuscular conditions and injuries like acquired brain injuries, Parkinson’s, muscular dystrophy and much more. My favourite exercises would probably be hip thrusts and deadlifts, they make me feel so strong #gains."

23.01.2022 Come join us as The Sports MAP Network host Dr Enda King for 2 exciting courses in Perth; the athletic hip and groin and ACL rehabilitation and RTP decision making. Get in soon because its nearly sold out!!

20.01.2022 Prostate cancer affects 1 in 6 Aussie men, making it the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men. Evidence shows that prostate cancer patients with higher energy expenditure experience a lower rate of death from both prostate cancer and overall. Not only may exercise help prolong treatment plans but it can also help offset the effects from prostate cancer treatments such as fatigue, Osteoporosis and sarcopenia (muscle loss).... If you would like to know more about how exercise can help during your cancer journey please get in contact with us at epc-sseh.uwa.edu.au or on 6488 3333. We offer both 1-on-1 sessions and group sessions specifically targeting prostate cancer. https://exerciseright.com.au/benefits-exercise-prostate-ca/

13.01.2022 Cancer and its treatment side effects can lead to a reduced quality of life both physically and mentally. What we do know is that physical activity can help mitigate these impacts whilst improving the survival rate during treatment and post treatment. A paper published this year found that woman who participated in regular exercise before and after their treatment had 40% reduction in the risk of cancer recurrence and cancer related mortality when compared to breast cancer pa...tients who were sedentary. (please click on the link if you would like to read the mentioned study)https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32239145/. If you would like to know more about how you can use exercise to help you pre, during or post treatment please talk to one our practitioners in the clinic, through email epc-sseh.uwa.edu.au or on 6488 3333.
