10.01.2022 Our first feature of 2020 is of Stuart Sensei, who is a part of the Shit-ry style under Shobukan Karate. He began his martial art training in 1971 before joining the UWA karate Club in 1973. Stuart Sensei who has reached 6th Dan, has shared his experience and currently teaches the UWA Karate Club. 02.01.2022 This feature is dedicated to our very own Club President Alexander Sosin, who we had a short interview with to get to know him better and share his insights of the club for semester two. I’ve been at uni since 2015 and finally am in my last semester completing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, majoring in Neuroscience and Computer Science which Is my current field of study. I found out about the UWA Karate Club through the university O- Day (Open Day) which has lead to me be...ing a member for the past two years. What I feel benefits me the most participating in the club is how engaging the physical exercise is, especially the practical and useful skill of the martial art. Ever since our falling off in 2018 I’m very pleased to see the Karate Club is gaining more active and engaged members for semester two. My involvement as President is to help support and facilitate events that will be fruitful to our members. My vision for the UWA Karate club is to be a space where people can engage in the community and I’m confident we have the excellent foundation for that to grow.
